Simple overview of how to Time-Travel and use Cross-Save to your advantage. The main benefit would be facilitating certain time-gated events and bypassing the forced auto-save feature for certain luck-dependent events. Introduction Just a quick overview on what the time-gated events this game has, and that you can bypass them by changing your system clock. There might be risks that you weren't aware of, so read through the guide first before trying! You can also abuse the Cross-Save feature for the in-game gacha system. There is thankfully no microtransaction, but the favorable outcome feels so ridiculously unlikely, that I cannot in good faith recommend anyone trying to get all the lootbox recipes legitimately, for instance. TL;DR Time-travel to make getting daily things faster (e.g. Islander Recipes, Celestia's Gift) Only travel backward to avoid messing up Ginormosia merchants & veggie stalls Save manually with Cross-Save to save-scum the gacha/aging results Strategy Time-Traveling for Time-Gated Events Changing your system's clock (commonly known as "time-traveling") is a method used to faciliated certain video game mechanics that operate based on real-life time. Several mechanics in Fantasy Life i keeps track of that: (daily) Celestia's Gift at Base Camp (daily) Islanders' free gift, emote, and recipe (hourly) Gallery update (for rating & selling) (hourly) Current items sold by Traveling Merchants in Ginormosia (half-hourly) Veggie sold status in Ginormosia Say you want to quickly obtain all the islander recipes, which only one is obtainable per real-life day, you can change your system time to a different day and obtain another one immediately. (see guide linked at the bottom on how to obtain islander recipes) ﹂Potential Risks and Fixes There have been reports where traveling forward in time would mess up the Traveling Merchants and veggie stalls in Ginormosia. For example, if you travel 2 years ahead and back, your Ginormosia merchants and veggie stalls would stop updating normally until you play for 2 years again. As such, it is recommended to time-travel only backward instead of forward. Solution for the Traveling Merchants Return to the current date Host a multiplayer session Enter Ginormosia End session, that's it! Solution for the Veggie StallsUnfortunately, I am not sure if a fix has been found yet, so please LMK if anyone has found a working method. So yeah, traveling forward can severely handicapped your cashnut income. If you are in need of cashnuts, my advice is to stock up on as many Shadow Carrots as possible first, and then travel to whichever date you can sell them. From there, you can keep selling them repeatedly by skipping forward a few hours at a time. Avoiding the Gamble with Cross-Save Fantasy Life i auto-saves your progress, sometimes too often to a fault. Usually, you can manully save right before some important actions, such as crafting a high-tier weapon and challenging a Golden Crown boss, and reload to attempt again. Basically the game auto-saves when: A different area is loaded (i.e. screen-transition) A Treasure Grove sapling is replanted An equipment buried in an Aging Altar is retrieved Mysterious Slates are given to Edward Marco's loot boxes are purchased There is no way to disable auto-save as far as I know, meaning the game probably expects you to take what you're given from the lottery. However! The game has a Cross-Save feature that is intended for transferring save data between different systems, meaning it can act as a manual save to redo the lottery if you want a different outcome. Go through the setup to enable Cross-Save When manually saving your game, toggle the "Update Cross-Save data as well" option GAMBLE If the outcome is unfavorable, exit to the title screen Choose "Cross-Save Inspection" Press "Yes" to overwrite local save data Return to step 3 to try again until you're done! Read more about the Cross-Save here: https://www.fantasylife.jp/fli/en/guide/cross-save/ ﹂Read-Only Method Alternatively, you can save-scum without setting up and going through the Cross-Save process, but it's only available on PC. Locate where your save data is stored Path: /Program Files (x86)/Steam/UserData/<Steam ID>/2993780/Remote/ File: 002DAE74-00-gamedata.bin Right-click the file, then on "Properties" There should be a checkmark to make the file read-only Upon toggled, the game would be unable to overwrite save data Do the activity, e.g. gambling opening gacha boxes Reload if you don't find what you're looking for When you do, go back to the file properties and uncheck read-only mode Try saving the gameJust to be safe, you can test the method by teleporting to a random location (e.g. the Depths) for Step 5 instead. If you manage to load the file without the teleportation being saved, you should be good to go with this method! ﹂Merchant Rerolling Tip As previously mentioned, you can change Don's stock by simply hosting an online Ginormosia session and departing. (other players not required) To further exploit this, I heard you can make a backup save (right before closing session?), and then keep reloading said backup save manually to change the stock. This should cut down the time for connecting online, and avoid either randoms joining your sessions or having to password-protect it. (Am not able to test it myself though so LMK if I got something wrong.) Closing Remark Thanks for reading!
