Desktop Character Layout (DCL) is a lightweight, easy-to-use utility that splits your desktop into a “workspace” and a “character display space,” so your favorite character can stay on screen while you work or study.・It automatically arranges the desktop into separate workspace and character display areas.・You can swap character art and background images in seconds — including images you created with AI.・Multiple layout styles are supported: show the character on the right, left, or both sides, and you can scale and position the image.・By connecting to the OpenAI API, or to supported local LLM environments, the character can engage in simple conversations with you.・You can assign different backgrounds to the full desktop, the workspace area, and the character space.・Your display settings are automatically saved and restored at launch. You can also save multiple presets and load them instantly.・The app shows recommended image specs (sizes, etc.) based on your current PC setup.・It’s designed to stay lightweight and simple, so it won’t get in the way while you’re working in other applications.・Sample character and background images are included so you can try it immediately.
