We focused on giving you all the tools to live a believable, relatable and deeply human journey. **A wonderfully threatening world ** Aurai is not just beautiful sights and landscapes. The world is a perilous one where you are never completely safe. Most Auraians never dare step outside of city walls as their fate would most likely take a dark turn. When you choose to go out there, come prepared, as hunger, thirst, exhaustion or weather conditions can be as deadly as the creatures that roam the wilds. There is no fast travel on this journey, no shortcuts, no mounts. You are only human, trying to carve a place in a world that doesn't care if you survive. **Choose your playstyle** There are no levels in Outward 2, you’ll progress through your own experience of the game and your gear. For a fee, special trainers scattered around Aurai will teach you how to survive the most brutal of encounters, specializing in up to 3 classes at once to form your own style of play. Will you be a powerful warrior, a deadly ranged bowman entrenched behind your traps or magic wielding mage boosting your power through sigils. **Prepare for every fight** In Outward 2, there is no level difference to support you along your journey. To survive, you will need to rely on your knowledge, preparations and strategy. Knowing how to effectively use traps, potions, boons, weaknesses, poisons, food buffs and specific gears to your advantage is the key to prevailing against the most dangerous beasts. As you venture into Aurai, you will gain the finesse to tell when you stand a good fighting chance against a creature, and which will overwhelm you. **Improved combat** We have reworked our combat system to make it more responsive to your commands while keeping the core of its design. Take full control during fights with easier parrying, dodging or changing your attack. We also complexified the equipment system by letting you equip what you want in your off-hand. Hit an enemy enough to deplete his stability, stagger him and ultimately bring him to a vulnerable state to inflict maximum damage. Cast spells using a ritualistic magic system where every move is decomposed. Send a fire stone in the air to create a fire ring around you that will let you empower your skills with deadly flames. **Live with your failures ** Since you're a mere human, don't expect your failures to go unpunished. Getting knocked out means living with the scars of your defeats. Luck might be on your side and you will be saved by a good samaritan. Or perhaps you will wake up back in town badly injured...or simply robbed of your goods and left to rot... or worse. Every defeat is a chance to discover something new. Constant auto-saving will prevent you from acting on plans that are not carefully thought out. A Hardcore mode is also available if you like the rush of risking everything.
