Compensate by reducing Work in the least critical block for Night: reduce the late-afternoon Work 16:00–18:00 → 17:00–18:00 (shave 1h). Maintain overlaps at 2h. If you have spare labour capacity (low threat), move 1h from Leisure of Morning or Afternoon into Work for construction peaks. Patrol shifts: Add +1h Leisure to patrols after nights of high alert to restore morale. Example: Night Leisure 00:00–01:00 → 00:00–02:00 (add 1h). Take 1h from the long Work block Night 15:00–21:00 → 15:00–20:00. Keep overlaps at 2h, but do not increase unless raids are frequent. When to apply: Immediately after winter after the first week of spring. 2.2 Schedules guideline (Summer) SEASON: Summer Goal: maximize gathering/harvest. Use siesta-style Leisure. Principles: raise Leisure mid-day, keep Work long but split around a midday leisure, slightly reduce Sleep. Worker shifts: Insert a 1-hour mid-day Leisure (siesta) between two work blocks for every shift. Example for Morning: Leisure 12:00–13:00 → Leisure 11:00–13:00 (extend to 2h siesta). To keep totals balanced, reduce one adjacent Work segment by 1h: if Work 06:00–12:00 becomes 06:00–11:00 and Work 13:00–16:00 becomes 14:00–16:00. Overlaps stay intact. Decrease Sleep by 1h for all shifts (e.g., Morning Sleep 21:00–05:00 → 21:00–04:00). Optional: increase Morning↔Afternoon overlap by 1h (14:00–17:00) for large processing chains. Patrol shifts: Move Leisure to mid-day to avoid high-heat night: Morning Leisure 07:00–08:00 → 11:00–13:00 and shift Work accordingly. Keep Sleep stable at 7h unless perks allow less. 2.3 Schedules guideline (Autumn) SEASON: Autumn Goal: maximize food & fuel production before winter. Principles: temporarily raise Work (especially daytime shifts), accept reduced Leisure but do not drop Sleep below 7h. Worker shifts: Shift +1 hour from Leisure → Work on the two shifts most responsible for farms/storage (typically A and B). Example: Shift Morning Leisure 16:00–18:00 → 16:00–17:00 (reduce by 1h); then increase Work 13:00–16:00 → 13:00–17:00 (add 1h). Overlap Morning↔Afternoon remains 14:00–16:00 (we keep it at least 2h). Patrol shifts: Keep Sleep at 7h, reduce Patrol Leisure by 1h and move that into Work if defense/supply escort is needed. Example Afternoon Leisure 23:00–24:00 → 23:00-23:00, increase Work 21:00–23:00 → 21:00–00:00. 2.4 Schedules guideline (Winter) SEASON: Winter Goal: protect village, keep morale & stamina high. Principles: increase Sleep and Leisure slightly, shorten Work; increase overlaps for critical stations & patrols. Worker shifts: Increase Sleep by +1 hour on every shift: Shift Morning Sleep 21:00–05:00 → 21:00–06:00. Shift Afternoon Sleep 02:00–10:00 → 02:00–11:00. Shift Night Sleep 08:00–15:00 → 08:00–16:00. Reduce Work by 1 hour shift-wide; move that hour into Leisure. Example Shift Afternoon Work total 11h → 10h and Leisure increased by 1h (e.g., Leisure 10:00–11:00 → 10:00–12:00). Increase overlaps at worker anchors from 2h → 3h to make transitions safer and allow more people active during twilight (set anchors to: Night↔Morning 05:00–08:00, Morning↔Afternoon 13:00–16:00, B↔C 21:00–00:00). Patrol shifts: Increase Patrol overlaps to 3h (Night↔Morning 04:00–07:00, Morning↔Afternoon 12:00–15:00, Afternoon↔Night 20:00–23:00). Add +1h Leisure for patrols after sustained raids; do not reduce sleep below 7h. Concentrate Work in 09:00–17:00 windows where possible (shift patrol routes to daytime where villagers can warm in between shifts). When to apply: On seasonal transition to winter, and if ambient temperature or 'cold damage' warnings appear. Keep this until the end of winter. Fallbacks / perks: If cold-resistant perks exist, you can keep overlaps at 2h and only add +1h Sleep. Warehouse setups with both expansions
