A compendium of the desired potion effects for each customer Beta Disclaimer This guide was originally made when the game first released in early beta. As such, it is generally incomplete. It is being gradually updated, but this will take time. Guide Information You can use 'ctrl-f' and enter the start of the dialogue to find a particular entry. Working out what potions to give your customers can be a lot of fun. For someone as obsessive as me, it can also be very frustrating trying to work out every valid option for every customer request before they storm out of your shop. I made this guide to both help others work out this charming game, and hopefully have others point out the things I've missed. If you see an error, or find an omission, please let me know. There are many requests I haven't seen since before I starting recording them, and there are likely many more I haven't come across at all. Any help is welcome. ---------- The guide is no longer sorted or ordered. I may choose to organise or differentiate everything later, but this works for now. ---------- The format used in this guide looks something like the following example. This example has been mutilated for educational purposes. ----- Request Dialogue - (?) I have a chest, but the key to it is... I lost it. I need to pick the lock somehow. Valid Effects - Acid Explosion Libido? -20 Rep ----- The '(?)' at the top indicates the request was provided by a helpful comment made by a generous and wonderful passer-by. I haven't checked they have no mistakes, either in the dialogue or verified effects. I expect you can trust the latter, but it is really easy to mis-copy an interchangeable word or two in the dialogue. If an effect finishes in a '?', it's a guess that hasn't been tested. If you think there might be an effect missing, then it has either been tested and found not to work, or hasn't been considered. In the latter case... whoops. The verified valid effects are listed in order of descending price. So, usually, the most expensive potion for the request has III for the top effect and II for the second. This is without some of the request modifiers that can appear, such as paying more for many additional effects. Rarely (at least in early beta), the valid effects do not combine nicely, so do think carefully before you go potion-making in case you end up with nasty side effects. (Who would make such a silly mistake anyway, cough cough) Reputation loss is listed if the request gives it. If it is not listed, it can be assumed that it gives +1 or +2 Reputation. I think higher Popularity levels and/or neutral or lower reputation is what increases this to +2, and potentially higher. Not sure though. I have noticed that the Witch gives no reputation, and others may also be an exception to the general rule. I'll try to list any I see. All requests in this release seem to give +2 Popularity with the weakest valid potion to +4 if the potion has valid effect at III. Bartering a request gives -1 Popularity while fulfilling an added condition gives +1. This is not listed in each entry to avoid further bloating this guide. ---------- Happy potion crafting! Pricing Information The potion base price (before any of your boosts come into play) is calculated by multiplying an effect's base price by 1 for I, 1.75 for II or 2.5 for III. Each effect in a potion is calculated separately and then added together. Generally this means that the most valuable potion for a particular request is a III, II for the most and second most valuable effects. This can change when the customer has an additional request, such as paying more for additional effects. I don't know the numbers, but if a special request is fulfilled, it seems to multiply the price. Side effects appear to lower the value by a multiple, but I don't know how much by. The bonuses from popularity level and the trading talent seem to add together. So a +30% and +50% become +80% or a 1.8 multiplier. BUT. Instead I get something that rounds to 1.7 or 1.9 sometimes? Maybe the formula is rounding somewhere weird? It's definitely not 1.3*1.5 at least. I feel like I must be missing something but I don't know what. This is making finding effect base prices really difficult. All effects and their base prices (if known) are listed below. Currently no prices are listed in the wiki, so I'll try to slowly fill this out myself. If a price has a '?' it is uncertain due to screwy multipliers. Healing - 10 Poisoning - 12.5 Frost - 20?
