What is needed to unlock those achievements. Ways to unlock them maybe faster than you thought possible, without save scumming. Grading Master Simple facts : You don't need 500x grade 10 cards in your binder It's how many 10's you ever got back from grading that matters Graded cards can be sent to be graded again and if they come back as 10's, they DO count for the achievement You can already see where I'm going with this. An ungraded card has a 38.4% chance to return as a grade 10. Graded cards sent to grading again have : 30% their grade improves by 1 41% to keep the same grade 29% their grade decreases by 1 Consequently, a grade 10 card has 71% of coming back as a 10 that will count towards the achievement. That is much better than the 38.4% of ungraded cards. So if you want to get the Grading Master achievement fast, you can send ungraded cards for grading to get some grade 10 cards. Then you keep sending back to grading any grade 10 you have, you complete all shipments with ungraded cards to get more 10's for the next round of shipping. Rinse and repeat. You are better off not regrading cards that are not 10's. Even a grade 9 has only 30% to return as a 10, it's better to instead send ungraded cards that have a 38.4% chance to return as a 10. What I did is I graded high value cards, 2 day service. Anything that did not return with a grade 10, I immediately put for sale. Most of the 10's I did send to grading again, except a few very valuable ones that I ended up selling. Selling a 30k card pays for the next 2 shipments, and the value difference between 10 and 9 is huge. I did it that way in part because my shop was already level 102 when the new graded cards achievement got implemented. I had a good bankroll and it obviously helped. But, if you DON'T have money for the 2 day service, that's fine too. Use whichever service you can afford, the odds of 10's are the same, it'll take longer but you'll save a lot of money. I was not even 100% focusing on the Grading Master achievement in terms of what I sent to grading, I even used the 4 day service a few times. And from 100x grade 10 cards to 500x grade 10 cards, it took me only 43 in game days. For the record, getting 400x grade 10 cards from ungraded cards by using the 2 day service would take around 65 days, with average luck. Obsessed with Grades steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3592046038 Some facts : You need 10 cards. 1x grade 1, 1x grade 2 [...] 1x grade 10 It has to be 10 times the exact same card, same edition, same card set You need to hold to those graded cards, don't sell them before getting the achievement You need them in your binder for the achievement to unlock The achievement unlocks when you open a box coming back from grading IF you have your 10 cards in your binder (I suppose it would also trigger if the box you open completes the set of 10 cards, assuming you already had most in your binder) So the safest way is to pick a low value card that you have possibly 100's of copies of. Sort your collection by "amount", pick a cheap card you have tons of. You start sending copies of that specific card to grading. If you grade cards of 2 or more different stacks from your binder, it won't work for this achievement. The bottleneck won't be grade 8, 9 or 10. The bottleneck will be grade 4, 3, 2 and 1. Why? Less than 1 in 300 card returns to you with grade 2. Same for grade 1. While the grades 8, 9 and 10 are, put together, 80% of what you get from grading. You should naturally get all grades from 10 to 5, just by grading enough cards. Then it gets interesting. You could wait for a very long time before finally getting all grades that way. So what you can and should do is pile the low grades you get. Anything grade 5 or less is good. When you have a good amount of those cards, you put 1 copy of each grade you have in a display or something to avoid mistakenly grading those cards again. Then you send the excess low grade cards you have to get graded again. Each of those cards has : 30% its grade increases by 1 41% its grade remains the same 29% its grade decreases by 1That means, if you send 8x grade 5 cards to get graded again, you'll get 2-3x grade 4 back, on average. And by repeating the process, you'll work your way to having all the 10 possible grades. Don't forget to pull aside 1 copy of the new grades you get. I think it works fine if you set your cutoff at grade 5 or 6. Anything above that, don't bother regrading. Personally I did set it to grade 5, but I'm not claiming it's optimal. Rather than regrading 6's, I opted to send fresh ungraded cards when I needed more cards in the system. It worked fine, even if I was not lucky. I never pulled a natural grade 1, 2 or 3 while I was going for the achievement. Basically, horrible luck, still got the achievement pretty fast. I'm wishing you better luck! Bonus note. If after grading a bunch of ungraded cards you start with all grades from 10 to 6, then say 12x grade 5, 2x grade 4 and 1x grade 2, what should you do? Keep 1x grade 5, set it aside for the achievement. Then regrade all the other 5's, the 4's and also the 2. Why? The goal is to get a grade 1. If you were to set aside the grade 2, then you'll have to wait until you create new grade 2 cards before you start trying for a grade 1. You end up regrading grade 2 cards anyway. Might as well start trying with the initial grade 2 card you had. It might intuitively sound risky, but it is not. It might actually save you a lot of time. Good luck! Have fun! Got a question? If you still have a question about those 2 achievements after reading my guide, feel free to post a comment and ask. I'll answer if I'm able to answer. If my guide helped you, feel free to give it a thumbs up with a simple click. It always feels good to know my guide actually helped someone. May your card shop prosper! Have fun! BONUS: Graded Gold I have seen a lot of misleading info about this achievement in the discussion forums. I have even seen bad info in a guide. And I don't like that. -------------- Here's the achievement's description: "Graded Gold: Sold graded card worth more than $100,000" It is misleading, because you can sell a card worth less than $100k for $100k and get the achievement. It's the price tag that matters, not the card's value. Here's a list of things to keep in mind when going for Graded Gold. 1. Because of the required $100k price tag, the card you sell has to be a graded ghost foil card. Very likely a grade 10. There's the odd chance that a grade 9 could be worth enough to be sold for $100k, but don't count on it. 2. When it comes to this achievement, you want to open Destiny packs of any of the four types. If you're opening Tetramon packs, you're less likely to find a ghost foil card. 3. If opening Destiny packs, you'll stumble on a single ghost foil card every 10k packs on average. On top of that, god packs (1 in 100,000) contain seven ghost foil cards. It goes without saying, but having A LOT of pack opening machines is one of the main ways to get the achievement faster. 4. It rarely happens, but customers can offer you ghost foil cards when trading. Whether you want to check trade offers or not is up to you. But it is very easy to go on a 40+ day streak where you won't be offered one, even with multiple counters. Pack opening is more reliable, trades are for hardcore min maxers. And you'd be better to add one more pack opening machine than to start looking at trades. But you're the boss! 5. As mentioned in the previous sections, an ungraded card has 38.4% of returning as a grade 10. Another way to get a grade 10 is to regrade a lower grade card, possibly multiple times. It is very worth it, for this achievement at least. See previous sections for regrading % breakdown. Whether you want to regrade no card at all or to regrade any grade 5 or better is up to you. But if the first card you grade is not a natural grade 10, regrading becomes very useful. 6. You should run one of two events (play tables). One helps with full art cards value, the other helps with foil cards value. Either one will help with your ghost foil cards value. It won't magically make all your cards worth $200k+. It's more about keeping a good value for all cards. If you run those events, out of the 40 different ghost foil cards, half or slightly more than half should be Graded Gold material if they are grade 10. 7. Selling a card for $100k could be a problem if you are lucky and find it early. What helps to sell it is a higher level shop and buying shop expansions. You'll get more customers and they'll be richer on average. You can try to sell one before level 50, but it might take a long time. On the other hand, at level 80+, if you bought all the expansions unlocked at that point, selling a card for $100k is usually a matter of a few days. 8. At 50% over market value, customers refuse to buy anything. If you try to sell a $65k card for $100k, you'll never sell it. A reasonable minimal value is maybe $77k, as selling it for $100k is less than 30% over its value. Don't let that stop you from trying to sell a $70k card if you want to try! What I'm saying is, if you expect a $70k card to be sold quickly for $100k, you are very optimistic. But you don't lose anything if it does not sell, so why not? Cards worth $84k and more should be easy to sell for $100k, the markup is less than 20%, and most customers won't care. But they still have to be wealthy enough. 9. Be careful, employees whose task is to "set price" can overwrite the $100k price tag you manually set. You might want to unassign that task for a while. You might also want to make a hard save at the start of each day, just in case. If YOU goof up, please don't fire Zackery for it. That poor guy is working for you 13h/day, 365 days/year for $18k. 10. The currency you're using can impact the $100,000 price tag target. USD? No problem. Canadian dollar? That's fine too. But if you are using Australian dollar, then everything is worth twice as much and costs twice as much. And since changing currency does not allow us to cheat the achievement, it means that for Australian dollar users a card has to be sold for $200,000. If you want to know the exchange rate for the currency you are using, in USD the cheapest employee works for you for $50 a day. Or a basic play table costs $200. If those are not your prices, it means Graded Gold is not 100,000 -insert currency- for you. Apply your currency exchange rate. ---------- AN EXAMPLE OF HOW THINGS COULD GO: I recently started a new shop to get an idea of how easy or hard Graded Gold really is. Here's a screenshot from that game. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3642574316 It's day 54, my shop is level 66 and I'm holding not one but rather THREE grade 10 ghost foil cards. They are worth $81k, $84k and $100k, I took other screenshots of them individually. I had other cards too but they were not Graded Gold material. Worth noting: I never found a god pack of 7 ghost foil in that game. What you see on that screenshot is NOT the product of insane luck. I was ending days as soon as the shop was empty and opening shop the next day as soon as shelves were restocked. Not opening a zillion packs daily by extending days artificially. Day 54, level 66, I did put the 3 cards for sale for $100k each, a customer walked in and bought 2 of the 3 cards at once. I was shocked, I had no idea the same customer could buy $200k worth of cards. The next day, now shop level 67, another customer walked in and bought the remaining card. If you don't care that much about selling other cards, I recommend using one card table and having only your $100k card on it. That forces all customers interested in single cards to have a look at your valuable card. The vast majority can't afford that card, but if you are lucky and a millionaire spawns, you want them to have a look at that card. If you have 100 cards for sale at the same time, you might waste many good opportunities. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3642574434
