Finished the game today; and here is what I learned regarding certain symptoms that I've noticed others are struggling with; and that I have found myself to become irritated by at times. Simply What I Noticed Scanner - Body Check You might be paying enough attention here to ensure you catch everything but - Take your time, this is the longest part of the inspection, at least it were for myself, and I recommend starting with this. This 'guide' is simply for those wanting to try and attempt getting perfect scoring with each inspection, although it is damn difficult I found after gaining the stethoscope. Ensure you check their feet and hands, both outer hand and their palms. Ensure you check beneath every part of clothing, I've found bite marks on inner thighs and calves that I would have missed from a simple go around. It seems self explanatory but there really are some little niches you can find symptoms in. I noticed this point in other discussions/guides I looked into - don't be fooled by beards and mustaches, the nosebleed and green drizzle, blood mouth can all be hiding under here so check the facial hair closely. Following this with the face in general, red eyes are clearly distinct from conjunctivitis, don't let it fool you or second guess yourself. The red is pure red and is very easy to spot the moment they walk through the gate. Skin tones however.. That is a whole different ball game. Go onto your tablet and check their image - other than green skin, the red and pale skins I find are generally difficult to differentiate. Red skin I see being the hardest of the two to spot, with pale skin sometimes being pretty obvious on fairer skin toned inspections. There isn't really a tip to this - I just suggest you look at the profile image and if it is noticeable, go for it. If it isn't? I wouldn't recommend making a guess. It never turns out well scoring wise. If there is anything else I've missed, do let me know, I'll get it added. Stethoscope This day was the day I started getting poor ratings and sincerely did not understand what I was doing wrong. I tested the day a few times. The first inspection I found came with freckles and a chest condition, or no chest condition. There should not be any other symptom so you can fiddle around with this first guy and restart your day to test it out yourselves. If you see a clear chest, with no black spots - nothing to check off the symptom list. However, if you see a black dot that clears away after you hover over it, I still put in the "Green" sickly symptom. This seemed to work as not inputting any chest symptom for that resulted in a poor rating, not sure if it continues to work in the later days. Hammer The slacked jaw is a sign right out of the gate that you need to use and check for a symptom with the hammer, however, until you reach nearer the end stage when you can unlock the symptom upgrade on the metal detector, always ensure you check it - its one of the easiest checks. Do not bother checking the knees, only check both arms. If the arm does not flinch, I see people get confused by this, it is a green symptom, no reflex. If they jolt their arm back, there is absolutely no symptom to check off here. If you do this enough, you will clearly know the difference. If they attack you, it is the yellow symptom and if you do not have any infected symptoms, toss them into quarantine. If the arm you hit doesn't move, but the other arm jolts forward, it is an infected symptom. Genuinely, though, if the arm flinches back after you hit it, there is absolutely no symptom to record with the hammer. Only if it remains still, they attack you in response - or the opposite arm shoots forward. Baggage This is where I encountered more poor ratings, after unlocking the baggage. The game doesn't tell you, I don't think, that there are new options in the symptom chart you can check with this. I always tended to check off baggage no matter what was inside of it, so long as they brought a bag with them. After all, bag, baggage, to me it simply checked the fact they brought such to the inspection. I do not recall having poor results from this. If your inspection has a bag on their back, always start with the bag. Open it up, check what is inside. If they have weapons, check baggage and check weapons. Then confiscate the weapons. There is no effect to your rating if you confiscate the wrong item, at least I've never seen that on my playthrough. If the bag contains red pieces of a human body, i.e infected body parts - check baggage off in your symptom chart, and infected baggage. Do not confiscate these, this will always mean they need to be sent to liquidisation, but ensure you go back to the person after this and follow up on all other potential symptoms. Starting with baggage is just a really good reminder to make sure you have it jotted into the chart. If you see something bright gold and sparkling, it is a collectible the developers put in, next to your sleep room there is a collectible room, it is a nice touch, I also found a collectible on top of the helipad. X-Ray Device This thing caught me out a fair few times, I will admit. The green symptom is the easiest to track, genuinely. Just zoom in and check the brain first, then roll on down the body checking each layer. The last layer that just shows the skeleton is the quickest way to check for contraband. Contraband inside of the body is an iffy spot for myself, it really helps if you have the narcotic upgrade on the metal detector. Honestly that metal detector is a God send when you fully upgrade it. You can find a variety of things, yet the one that looks like a sausage, and the one that looks like a lemon sized kidney stone - don't confiscate. I also do not know if you should be removing them, but I do know you shouldn't confiscate them when removed, however - if you do have the metal detector it will ping with the narcotic symbol and this means you will find narcotics in baggage, or inside of them. Always remove these and confiscate them from the man who removes them - the noise is always a laugh - and do not forget to check this off in your symptom tab. There is an option for it. If you found it in baggage, ensure you select weapons. The yellow symptom, discoloured organ, I believe can show up as any colour that is not blue/green or black. The infected symptom is fairly easy to judicate as it simply looks bright and right in your face. Always ensure you check this off. Did you accidentally send an infected to the survivor camp? If you have unlocked the gun, or the hammer upgrade that is lethal - shoot them as they walk past you towards the survivor camp. Yes, you lose money, but would you rather lose money - or half of your survivors the next morning? Quarantine When you put somebody into quarantine, this should mean you have an inspection that has yellow symptoms and potential green symptoms. Good, keep them there. As the game tells you to do, go back the following day to check on them. I recommend you do this at the end of the day before sleeping in case you need to restart your day at any point or you run out of quarantine space. Go ahead and re-inspect them again, check the symptoms you admitted them into quarantine with and check if they are still there, or, check if new symptoms have arrived. If new symptoms have arrived, typically an infected symptom, send them straight to liquidisation. If you see a yellow symptom is no longer there, but you have another yellow symptom that is still there - make sure you remove the symptom from the chart that has disappeared and put them back into quarantine. I will note here that I have sent them straight to the survivor camp when noticing this and haven't had a problem with them turning infected. If symptoms are disappearing I like to think it is safe to say they are not infected. The damn eyes. This tool gave me many, many poor results, and it was at this point I stopped attempting to get a 'perfect' game. There is no.. Verifiable way to make this check easier or things to look for - you do what the game tells you to do. You do not need to research any additional symptoms for this tool, everything is already unlocked and given to you to find and look out for. I tend to go right to the second to last layer, I look for the green symptoms first as majority of what I'd find would have all of them in their eyes. This is just a tedious tool, take your time and double check your findings, I also tend to jot down 1-2 that I find at a time so as to not get confused. What I do not know, with this tool, is if I need to select absolutely all of them that I find, or the worse one on the chart.. Again, this is where I threw in the towel and so long as I separated the infected from the survivors, I was happy. General Tips If you want the good ending to this game, ensure you fill each evacuation order, you should have enough people to get 50rp each evacuation to send 5 to the doctors. Ensure you always have a zombie ready to send them on evacuation from your cage, don't forget to feed it every day and do not lose power, else you will lose your zombie. Do the little missions you get at the start of the day on the bulletin board and essentially do good at the game. Ratings do not matter for this ending necessarily - just focus on not losing any survivors or running out of money. If the base fails, you fail. The ending choice you are given does not matter for the achievement. You decide. Now, if you want the bad ending, do the opposite of this but be sure to not overdo it. If you completely neglect every aspect of the game, the game will fail you and you will have to restart the game from the beginning. Keep your money up, upgrade when you absolutely need to, but neglect everything else. Your main focus is to fail every evacuation, do not send them caged zombies; and ignore Major's missions on the bulletin board. Show them you are incompetent at your job. It can be very tedious near the last 5-10 days or so, but once you get that metal detector fully upgraded, life becomes a breeze. That last upgrade will ping everything you need to check on the inspection as they come through the gate. It will also typically show letsay the hammer icon - but more often than not there is one icon that is shown that is a 'bluff' and will not give you a symptom. Focus on every other symbol it has highlighted on the metal detector and go through them one by one. Again, more often than not - one of those symbols will give you nothing, it is just there to throw you off it feels. You do not need to use any other tool that the metal detector upgrade does not show. Each time I've used every tool just to be sure - I always get zero symptoms. The metal detector upgrade is as said, a God send for time as well as inspecting. If there is absolutely anything I have missed, or anything you have figured out, please let me know and I will get this updated. I simply see so many people struggling with the poor inspection results and this is all that I know after having completed the game.
