特别值得一提的是，本作的剧情原案将由知名作家渡航执笔（剧情原案策划：株式会社OVERLAP），而角色原案则由知名插画家しずまよしのり(静间义则)负责。
作家渡航，曾以《我的青春恋爱物语果然有问题》连续斩获“这本轻小说真厉害”年度榜单三连冠，并在日本热销超过800 万卷。而此次合作，是渡航首次以剧情原案的身份加盟游戏创作，探索既不是青春恋爱喜剧也不是日常系作品的全新世界。
本次担纲《Project:R》角色原案的しずまよしのり（静间义则），是一位知名插画家，不但曾为知名轻小说《从零开始的魔法书》绘制插画，也为热门动画《刀使巫女》负责角色原案，创作了《舰队Collection》中岛风、长门等人气舰娘角色，而本次《Project:R》发布的概念视觉图也同样由他亲笔绘制。
