Russian medium tanks are widely considered by the community to be strong. This can be confusing to new players, who will try to spam blob them for them for easy wins. Usually this results in artillery being well fed. Typically, medium tanks can have two different roles. - They are your fire brigade, sent in to break up enemy attacks of heavy armor. - They can be flank guards, assisting recon units to prevent enemy flank attacks and extending the enemy. Usually new players will stack 4-5 medium tanks, a huge investment. If massed while spotted, this will result in cluster artillery farming the poor noob for his entire K/D. To avoid this pitfall, you must keep your tank squads in the mid to rear lines, in a centralized location. They should remain spread out to limit the danger of artillery fire. They should also stay behind cover. This can be either tall buildings or in secondary tree lines. Russian tanks are quite exceptional. - High armor values for given costs - Full range (1600m) gun launched atgm's (GLATGM's) which cleave through tanks without APS - Autoloaders They also have major drawbacks - Significantly less durable due to lower maximum health, (19 minimum for most USA, 18 maximum for RU) - Less machineguns to kill infantry (TUSK mod doubles amount of machineguns on USA) - Lower kinetic penetration GWOT Larpers, Abrams. M1A1 FEP- 280 points for ideal loadout. (TUSK, None) - You are one of the best medium tanks on the field, and one of the worst heavies. The FEP is for clowning on heavy tanks, on a budget. Do not take this as your heavy tank, there are way better options. Firepower - Full load of proper HE shells, which do (12) damage versus the standard (9) of other abrams. - You have one of the strongest kinetic rounds (525mm-800mm) - Can equip TUSK machineguns, melts infantry - All abrams have a phenomenal reload, a full second faster than T-72/T-90 tanks. - Lacks GLATGM to fight at max range, though it has kinetic ammo with max range (1400m). Defense - Exceptional armor (750mm) on front. - Competitive health (18) from TUSK I modification. - Mobility is average, (60) is nothing special, but not terrible. - Two smoke charges, no APS in medium tank form. - Jammer can be useful, but is not worth the points. A chance to dodge missiles is not worth your points. M1A1 HC- 225 points for ideal loadout. (TUSK, None) - Economical medium tank. The HC is useful to counter IFV spammers on a budget. HC's will mince a T15 if given an equal headon engagement. Firepower - Lacks proper HE shell, only does (9) damage. - Mediocre kinetic rounds (450mm-720mm) - Can equip TUSK machineguns - Standard Abrams reload - No GLATGM to fight at max range, has kinetic ammo with decent range (1300m). Defense - Mediocre armor (650mm) on front. - Competitive health (18) from TUSK I modification. - Mobility is average, (60) is nothing special, but not terrible. - Two smoke charges, no APS M1A2- 245 points for ideal. (TUSK2) - Backbone tank. This one can work in any role you throw it at, as long as it does not involve being a KH101 target. It has max health (19) and can trade with most other medium tanks quite well. Firepower - Lacks proper HE shell, only does (9) damage. - Mediocre kinetic rounds (450mm-720mm) - Can equip TUSK machineguns - Standard Abrams reload - No GLATGM to fight at max range, M1A2 has kinetic ammo with decent range (1300m). Defense - Mediocre armor (650mm) on front. - Excellent health (19) from TUSK II modification. - Mobility is average, (60) is nothing special, but not terrible. - Two smoke charges, no APS M1A2 SEP- 270 points for ideal. (TUSK2) - Incremental upgrade over M1A2. Slightly more versatile due improved rounds, but it comes at a cost, 25 points. I'd recommend against using this unit, since its advantages are typically not required. Firepower - Improved HE shell, while only doing (9) damage, it has 100 extra meters of range (1400). - Improved KE shell, (475mm-760mm), still cannot pen medium tanks at max range. - Can equip TUSK machineguns - Standard Abrams reload - No GLATGM to fight at max range and has kinetic ammo with (1400m) range. Defense - Improved armor (750mm) on front. - Excellent health (19) from TUSK II modification. - Mobility is average, (60) is nothing special, but not terrible. - Two smoke charges, no APS M1A2 SEP V2- 280 points for ideal. (TUSK2) - Incremental upgrade over M1A2 SEP. Further upgraded KE ammo, for 35 points more than the standard M1A2. I'd recommend against using this unit, since it is overshadowed by other tanks, and is more expensive. Two mediocre medium tanks will beat one amazing medium or heavy tank in almost all cases. Economics win the war. Firepower - Improved HE shell, while only doing (9) damage, it has 100 extra meters of range (1400). - Upgraded KE shell, (500mm-800mm), does not allow full range pens of any medium tanks, but does have an extra 100m of range compared to M1A2 (1400m range). - Can equip TUSK machineguns - Standard Abrams reload - Lacks GLATGM to fight at max range, though it has kinetic ammo with max range. Defense - Solid armor (750mm) on front. - Excellent health (19) from TUSK II modification. - Mobility is average, (60) is nothing special, but not terrible. - Two smoke charges, no APS Kharkov V2 Enjoyers, T72 and T90.

T-90A- Ideal medium tank is 230 point obr 2006. - A solid medium tank, which tends to be overlooked due to requiring side shots to effectively destroy contemporary medium tanks. - The 2006 version (T90A) is almost always worth taking instead of the 1996 version (T90). - It receives the upgraded armor, (650mm->750mm) - improved top speed (60->70) - improved reverse speed (15->20) - improved kinetic round, (325/520 -> 400/640) - Costs 70 additional points, a worthy upgrade. Firepower - Full load of proper HE shells, which do (12) damage versus the standard (9) of abrams. - Poor KE pen, cannot pen abrams frontally. Significant drawback. - Built in GLATGM, but only (1300m) KE range. - Poor reload speed. Defense - Exceptional armor (750mm) on front. - Built in 30% ECM (Cue shtora dazzler photo/meme) - Mediocre health, (18) - Mobility is good - Two smoke charges, no APS. T-90M obr.17- Ideal medium tank is 270 point version with (Kord, Additional ERA) - Overpriced medium tank, poor heavy tank. - Can be modified into a heavy tank via (Arena APS+ERA mod). - The ERA should be taken, since it provides a significant health increase from (17->18). - The Kord should be taken, since it increases machine gun range (600m->800m) and damage from (0.75->1) for only 5 points. Firepower - Full load of proper HE shells, which do (12) damage versus the standard (9) of abrams. - Poor KE pen, only M1A1 and M1A2 can be frontally penned, and only at point blank, (450mm->720mm) pen. Significant drawback. - Improved GLATGM, (750mm->850mm) of pen compared to T90A. Still cannot pen abrams frontally with ATGM. - Improved damage on GLATGM, (9->10) but it still only has (1300m) KE range. - Poor reload speed. Defense - Exceptional armor (800mm) on front. - Mediocre health, (18) - Mobility is good, (70) forward, (20) reverse. - Two smoke charges, no APS in medium tank form. T-72- Cheap GLATGM medium tank ideal version costs 150 points and has (T72BA, K-1, Stock) - Like a claymore, keep front towards enemy. At max range (1600m) and using crossfires, (300 point investment) can kill a heavy tank without taking damage. They keep the standard 2 smoke pops, and 3 GLATGMS. Firepower - Full load of proper HE shells, which do (12) damage versus the standard (9) of abrams. - Poor KE pen (375mm/600mm), cannot pen abrams frontally. - GLATGM has full (1600m) range, but only (9) damage, and (750mm) high explosive pen. Not enough to go through front, but with proper positioning it can be exceptional. - Poor reload speed. Defense - Poor armor (550mm) on front. - Bad health, (16) - Mobility is optional, by default you get (60) forward, (15) reverse. For 15 additional points, you can get the standard (70) forward, (20) reverse. - Two smoke charges, no APS T-72B3M Arena- One of the best medium tank in game. - Ideal version is 285 points, (T-72B3M obr 16. + Arena APS, stock engine) - It lacks KE performance, but fully leans into the CQC playstyle. Firepower - Only (1300m) KE range. - Poor Pen, (425mm/680mm) means close range and flanking is required to pen abrams. - GLATGM has full (1600m) range, but only (9) damage. - Poor reload speed. - Free built in Kord when compared to T-90M Defense - Mediocre armor (700mm) on front. - Mediocre health, (18) - Mobility is optional, by default you get (60) forward, (15) reverse. For 15 additional points, you can get the standard (70) forward, (20) reverse. - Two smoke charges, FOUR APS charges while still being MEDIUM tank prices. No Fuel in Grozny, T-80's
