This guide has a reliable method for unlocking all achievements within Risk: Global Domination and dedicated instructions on how to do each and every achievement in easy and legitimate methods. Introduction Welcome to Risk: Global Domination. I assume that you are here because there are three or four achievements that you simply cannot get regardless of how hard you try. Don't worry as through investigation alongside trial and error, I have managed to figure out reliable methods for every achievement in game. This guide has three core components: The Grind, The Strategy, and the Tutorials. The Grind is the section that is simply described as long term achievements that you will achieve through natural playtime. You can brute force your way through these achievements, however these achievements are going to be hard to obtain due to the naturally long process to achieve them. The Strategy is entirely skill and luck based achievements. This is where the bulk of the research went. There is going to be genuine advice and strategies to get every achievement, but this is likely what you need the most, as these are all the achievements that require specific conditions to secure. The Tutorials are achievements that are so easy that they are literally just like doing tutorial missions. This is where the common sense achievements go, but more importantly the easy achievements that nobody pays any mind to. The Tutorial Seems Reasonable the easiest stuff comes first, am I right? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pen Pal: Make a friend in the game Play with random people and send friend requests. Play with your friends and send friend requests to them so you can invite them from in game easier, just make a friend. You don't need to keep them on your friends list even. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Making Connections: Play an Online Multiplayer Game You actively cannot miss this achievement unless you refuse to play anything excluding singleplayer. If you are struggling with this, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how to help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Smiley Face: Express Yourself through 10 Emoji Click your face and spam whatever emojis you want, they are at the top and are pictures of the characters expressing themselves. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Chameleon: Play 5 games with different avatars Play a game, swap your avatar. Play a game, swap your avatar. Keep track of which ones you used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Private Eyes: Click Privacy Links. Go to the Help Center, click Privacy Policy, and accept it. You get taken to the Privacy Policy and get a free achievement. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well Educated: Tapped on most of the Tooltips go to settings, click the little gray question marks. Click any gray question mark you see. It will proc eventually. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matchmaker: Find a game using Automatch Automatch into a lobby. I recommend trying to automatch multiple times if it doesn't work the first time, it seemingly goes based on time in queue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cashed Up: Make an In App Purchase I personally think if you enjoy this game, Premium is an incredible investment as it gives you free gameplay and makes a lot of this guide easier to complete as you don't have the restrictions of the play currency put upon you. If you simply don't want to support the developers, you can use Steam Achievement Manager to unlock this achievement, but that does go against the spirit of this guide as if you want to use SAM, you could just unlock all the achievements without even trying. The Grind Grind Achievements are the ones that you are going to simply have to play a lot to earn naturally. There are other methods I am going to suggest as a possibility but I am wholeheartedly going to recommend against. These are not only unfun but unviable in the long run unless you have a lot of spare time or your friends are willing to help you 100% the achievement rosters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoils of War: Claim 50 cards from Defeated Players To start our list, we have all the card based challenges, this one is one of the few that can't be easily won through coordination. Simply put, just play against easy bots and when they get 3+ cards, take them out. Leave bait behind and if someone has 2 cards, you don't need to kill them yet as they need three matching or one of each to trade in for a set. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Card Collector: Turn in 10 sets of cards. Card Connoisseur: Turn in 50 sets of cards. Full Deck: Turn in 100 sets of cards. All three of these achievements basically rely upon you taking territories and turning your cards in. You need 30, 150, and 300 cards total turned in to get each respective achievement. The regular solution is to play slowly, take territories, and save your cards up or focus on taking out players with large quantities of cards to get free turn ins. This is the strategy that I recommend using. However, if you have friends or a second device like a phone, you can theoretically just create a stalled game where you attack the second person, take a single territory, then fall back. They proceed to do the same thing and you keep going at this over and over again until you hit Full Deck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corps Creator: Draft 250 Troops Battalion Builder: Draft 1,000 Troops Army Assembler: Draft 10,000 Troops These are directly correlated to the above achievements. You can earn a maximum of 10 troops drafted within a fixed card game. A progressive card bonus however will allow you to build your troop gain massively. Depending on the length of the game, it can get as high as you would like. Eventually you could trade in a set of cards for the 10,000 you need in theory. Play a few games of progressive and you'll earn these achievements rather quick. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1K Down: Defeat 1,000 Troops The Big 5-0-0-0: Defeat 5,000 Troops Take No Prisoners: Defeat 10,000 Troops All of these rely upon defeating large numbers. Just have Progressive Card Bonus and play with friends, the card bonuses will add up quickly if you let the game go on long enough. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rising Star: Defeat 25 Players (CPU or Human) Unquenchable Thirst for Glory: Defeat 50 players (CPU or Human) System Error: Defeat 100 CPU players Cower Puny Humans: Defeat 100 Human players This relies upon your aggression and drive to eliminate other players. If you were to boot up games with easy bots to earn 100 CPU Defeats and play with five humans in a small manual placement world conquest, you could theoretically earn all these achievements in 40 games total; 5 players per round for a total of 20 rounds of bots and humans to equal out to 100 CPU and 100 Human players defeated. However the logistical requirements of achieving this require the cooperation of six people to ensure that a single person is the consistent knockout for all players twenty times and that is not reliable. My recommendation is to just play the CPU matches against Easy Bots and play with friends or find people online who you enjoy playing with. This is simpler method even if it isn't technically "easier" than the theoretical I gave above. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unlucky Streak: Lose 3 Games Fourth Time's a Charm: Lose 3 Games in a Row Slippery Slope: Lose 10 Games Anti-Victor: Lose 50 Games Simply put just purposefully lose or surrender if you want these achievements or play the game often. 50 losses isn't hard to earn with a bit of patience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- World Debut: Win 1 "Play Online" multiplayer game Global Gamer: Win 25 "Play Online" multiplayer games Planetary Player: Win 50 "Play Online" multiplayer games International Champion: Win 100 "Play Online" multiplayer games Play with Friends counts, so just play with a single friend and have them purposefully lose or just play naturally with friends and you will get this achievements in time. Smaller maps with random placement and Blizzards will aide you as these settings will create faster games. Random Placements removes setup and Blizzards removes a set number of territories from the game, making them unoccupied and unable to be moved into. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solo Effort: Win 1 singleplayer game Make It On Your Own: win 25 singleplayer games Army of One: Win 50 singleplayer games Lone Wolf: Win 100 singleplayer games Play against Easy Bots on Small Maps with blizzards and random placement. This is the best strategy you can do to save time, there is really no way to utilize game mechanics to get this reliably without putting in actual playtime for singleplayer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fanatic: Play 100 Risk games Veteran: Win 200 Risk Games These will come naturally in the obtaining of International Champion and Lone Wolf. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friendship: Form 1st Alliance Peacekeeper: Form 25 Alliances Socialite: Form 50 Alliances Get a friend and send alliance requests back and forth to each other whenever you can. There is a spam prevention limit, so if you send one, break it, then they send one, you can get two and generally time it well. The more people you have, the easier this is as the less time you have to wait to get to 50. Otherwise just play random lobbies and send alliance requests to everyone. You will get there eventually. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No Strings Attached: Break 5 Alliances This will come naturally if you do the first alliance strategy. If you are playing with randoms, whenever you see someone is so far on the back foot and about to lose? Break the Alliance with them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Familiar Ground: Play the same map 10 times Short maps with blizzards and random placement, win or lose just keep playing over and over again until the achievement is given to you. The Strategy Achievements that require either planning, strategy, or luck to obtain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shields Up: Defend 5 attacks in a row Stonewall: Defend 10 attacks in a row Inpenetrable: Defend 15 attacks in a row Anyone who has played Risk Factions is now likely recalling the achievement called Iron Man where you had to have one troop defend against five enemy attackers. Everyone who has played that game and gotten that achievement, you may breath a sigh of relief as this game is not only better with RNG, but more importantly this set of achievements can be done with any number of troops on a territory. The strategy for Inpenetrable is to have a friend attack you 15 times with a single troop against a massive stack of troops. Grab a friend and find a map you like to hunker down in. Ibailand is the best suited for this because the Down Town area on the pink continent is surrounded by 5 territories. This means your opponent can surround you and drop a single troop in each territory and attack Down Town. Three turns pass of each territory attacking your stack and you can win easily. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Better Luck Next Time: Be Eliminated before your first turn This achievement is entirely luck based. The more real players you have to aid you in this achievement the better. Small maps, with Blizzards on the Zombie gamemode can be the best solution. Add as many players as you have and fill the rest with bots. You can do one of two things: Dump all your troops into a single territory and leave all your other ones in a straight line for your friend to run through and hope that the RNG takes your 18 troop filled territory. If you opt not to do that, then spread them out and hope that the Zombies take a territory that is out of the way whilst your friend dumps all their troops into a single territory that they can blitz through your front line with. Balanced Blitz and Slow Rolling is recommended depending on how many troops you have in each spot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Long Engagement: Play a game that last for 15 turns or more Just take over most the world, surround the final country remaining and dump all your troops into ensuring they don't escape. If you do any of the methods described in the Grinding section, you are likely going to get this naturally on accident. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Land Baron: Hold 9 territory cards all at once Someone in the game needs five territory cards, you need to hold four territory cards. You need to kill the player that holds five cards to gain the nine cards you need. Again, the best way to do this is with a friend who can let you conquer all the territory you need, trade off on getting cards, then ending the game with one player owning one or two territories and getting attacked for win and to gain the cards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loaded Dice: Roll 4 sixes in a row All Four One, One For All: Roll 4 ones in a row Slow Roll your Dice, get a massive stack and put it against another massive stack of troops, you will get this achievement eventually, the odds are statistically not likely (1/6^4 for both, aka 0.077% odds, but with a minimum of 100 troops, it becomes significantly more possible at a 7.77%) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The World is Yours: Defeat 5 Expert AIs in a single game of Classic World Domination Map Magnifique: Defeat 5 Expert AIs in a single game of French Revolution Map Both of these rely on player skill. My best advice is use Progressive card bonus and manual setup. Aim to take Africa as your first continent on Classic and Southern France in French Revolution. Both of these territories you can defend easily whilst still maintaining decent troop bonuses. Africa has a three territory front and Southern France has a two territory front. Wait for someone to overextend themselves and clean them out. Save up troops and cards til you actually need to use them, only take what is safe to take and retreat when you need to. Otherwise I can't give assistance as these games are subject to much variability.
