Why are most birds white-feathered? They aren't, exactly 1/20 birds are white feathered. Why do the [birds] have different colors of feathers? It's the child of one Goose, one Duck, and he wears a Duck costume and then a Goose costume on top of that. This is why it's so difficult for anyone to tell if someone is a Mimic. Are all birds of one kind the same or can they be different from each other? I mean can be Dodo bird smart, Duck friendly, Falcon pacifist, Vulture vegan (or just don't eat birds), etc? All birds are different, with their own personalities and hopes and dreams. What you're seeing is just a snapshots of specific birds at specific times and places. What do birds tend to eat? Crust, bread, salmon with ants, etc. Do the birds have any form of “exotic” meals? Exotic is really in the eye of the beholder! What is culturally the norm for one group of birds might seem strange for another. Everyone likes bread crumbs though, and the spicy ramen is pretty daring for everyone. Do geese like jelly beans? If there's anything that all birds in the GGD universe can agree on, it's that jellybeans need to be killed on sight. Geese What is the life expectancy of a goose, factoring in both with and without murder on the table? The age range of a goose goes from 0-30 years. The average life expectancy is around 10 years with murder on the table, and how could we possibly know what the average life expectancy would be without murder?! Are geese the size of humans? Or their original size? They are approximately 90 to 120 cm [tall]. How do you tell the difference between a male and a female goose? You watch them until they lay an egg. Why aren't the geese capable of murder? They are, they just like to do it democratically. Since you said that Goose blood is indiscernible from jam, have Geese ever accidentally cannibalized? Never! Or so they would have you believe. Why can’t geese see the [zippers] on the ducks’ costumes? They have bad vision. Ducks How are ducks able to sabotage things like the chandelier from afar? What you think is the ducks sabotaging the chandelier is actually the ducks having already sabotaged it a while ago, and is just currently confirming that it worked correctly. It's hard to wrap your head around it, I know. How are killers able to kill every bird cleanly in half? Birds are lazy and don't workout their cores very much. Do the ducks have anything against any of the neutral roles, or do they just kill them in the crossfire thinking they're geese? The ducks have trouble telling who's who from time to time. The ducks are wearing goose costumes, but so are the neutrals. The geese are also wearing geese costumes for that matter How do the ducks plan to survive after a successful game-ending sabotage like life-support, reactor, or fire? Survival isn't the duck's mission at all. When the Dodo wins, he doesn't live either! Are the ducks just a different race of alien that humans have encountered but have not studied as aliens? I don't know what a human is. Do ducks have legal documentation? Or do they sneak in illegally? They do! There's immigration and some people do try to sneak in. There was a version of the stamp documents task that was deemed too difficult that included different countries of origin. They are: Canarda, Ostria, Crowatia, Henmark, Ducksembourg, Portugull, Ucrane. Do the ducks sweat in their goose costumes, or is there an air conditioning unit installed for no extra charge? Ducks don't have sweat glands, that's why they migrate. When Ducks tell another Duck to duck, do they say DUCK or something else? Cause one can assume the Duck might get confused and not duck. What are the names for the new ducks? Margaret and Franklin. How do ducks get away with disguising themselves when they quack and geese don't? If they don't speak, wouldn't that be suspicious? Ripping. Everybody talks in some sort of bird simlish, you can hear it in the conversation tasks or in the Fowl Play trailer. Where do the ducks get their weapons? The same place anyone else would. The weapon aisle of your local mass retail center. The Goose/Duck Conflict Do ducks and geese have different cultures/religions, do they speak different languages? Yes they do! Their cultures are not a monolith and it's the perspective that they are that has led to friction and violence over the years. Why are the ducks trying to sabotage [the geese]? War is a terrible thing and there are at least two sides to every story. Ducks have been portrayed as the villains but who can say who or what started the conflict at this point? And would any of that make a difference as to the amount of blood that’s been shed since then? What role does spicy ramen play in the Goose/Duck conflict? Oddly enough, the spicy ramen plays no part in the Goose/Duck conflict at all. It’s a universal constant that one could describe as being the yin to the Sleepy Goose’s yang. Dread the day that he finds it, for it spells disaster to the world. Who made it to space first geese or ducks? It's hard to say, it seems like wherever there are geese there are also ducks. How exactly did the geese learn about the duck's infiltration? Probably when bodies started to pile up! How did the ducks manage to infiltrate in the first place? Don’t the geese remember who was in there crew? The ducks are wearing geese costumes and the geese are wearing geese costumes; it's very confusing. How long will the treaty last between the ducks and geese? Who can say? The antipathy between the two sides has been mounting but it's closer to a cold gray war, rather than a hot war with open aggression. What caused the war? No one can really remember. Maybe it was a small slight that was blown out of proportion, maybe it was cultural differences that were misinterpreted, maybe it was an epic story love that launched a thousand ships. Much of the origins of the conflict were only passed by word of mouth, and it's true origins have since been mythologized. Have there been any other conflicts/wars between different species of birds like the Goose-Duck one? There have been many conflicts over the years What are some of the worst wars in Goose history? WWI and WWII. If WWI and WWII happened in the GGD universe, were they caused by the same reasons or is it just a coincidence that they also had two world wars? There are no world wars in the GGD universe. [Yes, both of these Q/A about WWI/II are in the #Lore channel. The second is newer.] Couldn't this whole situation be solved if they all just took off their [goose] costumes? What situation? Do geese ever put on duck costumes and then go to a duck spaceship and murder a bunch of ducks? Ducks wear geese costumes even on duck spaceships, but yes, Geese do infiltrate duck space ships for murder purposes. Do all the birds live under the same economic model? If not, did that contribute to the erosion of relations between the two? The nation of ducks uses some form of communism, the main country of geese uses some sort of capitalism. The following are the newspapers from Goose Goose Duck Story Cinematic. It is assumed these are written by the geese, and they predate the SS-Mothergoose, Blackswan, and Nexus Colony space missions. The War is Over! Military officials gathered early Tuesday morning for a truce signing. The long awaited end to the 20 year struggle we have faced, has finally come. Members at the Goose Embassy in Duckia say politicians are scrambling to stabilize the economy post war. General Quackus spoke to the public earlier today, assuring the people of Duckia that they will prevail. Hope runs thin as business' large and small that have driven the community for decades, begin to close their doors. Is there really any chance for them to get back on their feet? Should the Gaggle step in to aid them, so close to the end of our long term conflict? Geese Seek Out New Worlds! Military and science officials gathered today to announce the beginning of a new collective. They will work together alongside an elite crew of space exploration experts, to bring us into the future! Into the stars. The multi billion dollar project will allow us to discover new worlds, new homes in which we can expand our great civilization. Larger Avian Culture/Universe What are cats? Cats are cats. Having the Canadian goose implies that countries exist, does that also mean things like international trade exists among said countries? Are they also going through a pandemic? International trade does exist, although relations can be frayed. They aren't going through a pandemic because birds in this world are smart and everyone believes in vaccines. Refer to the bird vaccine task. It was revealed earlier that countries are named after birds. Are they named that way because most of the population is that bird? (I.e. is Crowatia mostly made up of crows?) No, they're just bird-based pun [names for] countries. How populous are the various types of birds compared to one another? With advances of technology, immigration and global trade has increased dramatically in recent years. As you might guess, you can find birds of every type everywhere, but there will be countries with significantly greater population of specific birds. Does the existence of Vampires in this world mean that other monsters like Were-birds and Harpies exist? Other monsters exist, but monster is such an ugly word! What is the name of the money in the GGD universe? Silver and gold. Can every goose and duck print money, and if so, is there inflation in the goose society? The mint prints money, but different geese take shifts working there. There is inflation like in any economic system. Where do Stonks come from? Stonks are the paper representation of a security that entitles its holder to a fractional ownership of a corporation. So is there racism in GGD? There is always discrimination in the world. Do ducks spread Christmas cheer, and do the Geese? Different birds celebrate different holidays, but there are some that span across the entire Birdverse. Birds do not put their instincts on hold during their respective holidays. They may spread cheer AND also kill a goose in the same moment. They are not mutually-exclusive activities. What are some holidays in the GGD universe? They ironically celebrate many of the same holidays that we do here but the meanings and origin stories behind them are entirely different. Is there such thing as magic in the GGD universe? Why, yes, there is! We'll see some of that soon [likely referring to The Basement map.]

When the Sheriff kills themselves after guessing wrong, why do they stab themselves instead of shooting their gun? I've seen Sheriffs with guns but never swords. Where and how did they get their sword from? The Sheriff uses a sword because he's a goose. If the Sheriff shoots a goose, they kill themselves, so if they shot themselves with a gun it would be an infinite loop of shooting themselves. They use a sword to save the space time continuum. Canadian/Goose CanadaHow does the Canadian goose make their killer auto report? The Canadian goose doesn't make anyone do anything, they are a protected species, and birds that would harm them feel a deep sense of remorse. Assuming the land of Canada exists, does the Canadian Goose follow a different food guide than the others or do they acclimate their diet? The Canada in the GGD universe is similar to another Canada you might know. Immigration is high, and there are many cultures and birds from all over the world that have different culinary preferences. Does maple syrup exist in the land of the Canadian geese? Yup, the real high quality stuff. What else would you put on waffles and pancakes? They're finding stuff like a gun with one bullet and realizing that they're inspecting the Vigilante. His day job is Mortician, but at night, he's a looter. CelebrityWhat did the Celebrity Goose do to get so famous? They are an influencer, of course. They became famous by streaming a popular social deduction game to millions of viewers. Are the Celebrity’s fans [just] geese, or ducks as well? The Celebrity is mostly a goose influencer. They are not followed by most other species. Esper was initially released in update 2.03 on June 17, 2022, and switched sides in update 2.15 on January 14, 2023. Esper is the first (and possibly only) role to switch sides after being initially released. Esper 1.0, exclusive to The Basement, had the sole ability of automatically blocking telepathy and clairvoyance sabotages while alive. This meant the Esper's sole ability was passive, and there was no indicator on the Esper's side that a sabotage had been blocked (ducks could see an orange circle on the minimap indicating the Esper's location if a sabotage was blocked). This is on top of the fact that telepathy and clairvoyance are lesser-used sabotages on the map. Players complained about how weak and pointless the role felt, and so Esper switched sides to being a duck. I think the 2.15 patch notes sum it up best: "The Esper is psychic, and they could hear it every time a player complained about how weak they were. Every complaint felt like a knife in their brain. Enough was enough, and they decided to switch sides. The new Esper Duck can psychically invade another player's mind. Once they are inside, a timer will begin. The Esper can speak privately up until the timer hits zero, at which point the target dies." Lovers How do a goose and duck fall in love? They’re all birds, and love knows no boundaries. However, love is fragile. It isn’t a force that conquers all, it’s a flower that requires the right sun, water, and soil to prosper. In their respective homes, there is too much stigma for a duck and goose to fall in love but there aren’t many laws in space (or Ducktorian England). How did the lover geese meet, and how do they know that their lover died when they're apart? Some connections transcend space and time. You'll notice that they were connected before they even met as well, so it's more a matter of destiny. Why cant you kiss your Lover – or shall I say give them a peck? Nothing's stopping you. Why can't 2 ducks be Lovers? All ducks are already lovers, it's only worth noting if a goose is a lover. They're heartless. Why do ducks die when their Lovers do? They can’t love them that much if they choose to kill others like them. Wouldn’t it be better to be alive to kill those who killed his lover? I mean that's more of a philosophical and moral question really. Some of us would take comfort in our lovers avenging us posthumously, some of us might take more comfort in reuniting in the afterlife. Duck Roles Hitman/BodyguardIf the VIP doesn't know they are the VIP, who is paying the Bodyguard to protect them? The VIP is not the benefactor who's paying the bodyguard, and there's similarly also someone else paying the Hitman to kill the VIP. Who keeps hiring all of these Hitman ducks and why do their targets always have a Bodyguard? The truth is, it's the same rich goose with too much money who's gleeful at the dynamic he's creating. He's a monster. CannibalWhy does the Cannibal cannibalize? Flavor? You'd have to ask them. If cannibalism is eating the flesh of ones own species, and the Cannibal is eating the bodies of the geese they kill, aren't they not actually a Cannibal? The Vulture can never eat other Vultures, but the Cannibal can eat other ducks if the Mimic or blind ducks are on. It's like how the joke goes with an Irishman and a goat. [Why can the Cannibal only eat one body?] The Cannibal also happens to be a fast non-picky eater, although their appetite isn't quite as large [as the Vulture’s]. SilencerHow does the Silencer's silencing only come in at meetings? The silencing has nothing to do with duct tape, that's just the symbolic representation of the Silencer throwing a time-delayed sour lemon in the mouth of a victim discreetly. AssassinHow does the Assassin do their job? They etch the name of a profession into the side of a bullet and then they fire. How does the Assassin die for shooting incorrectly? Job-based guns are very finicky, and if you misfire you die. Practice gun safety. If meetings freeze time, how can the Assassin shoot somebody if everyone is in an inanimate state? Did the ducks invent time bending firearms or something of the sorts? Yes, time bullets. ProfessionalHow does the Professional hide bodies and why does it auto-report when [geese] step on them? The Professional is just very good at hiding [bodies]. The horrid stench gives it away and compels geese to call for help. The Professional Duck implies the existence of Unprofessional ducks. Are the other ducks just doing this as a hobby or did they get fired for leaving all of those bodies laying around? The Professional is their sobriquet [aka nickname]. All ducks are here on a mission. MorphlingIs the Morphling an alien? No, they are a Morphling duck. Since the Morphling is sampling and modifying DNA to change their appearance, are they the only bird running around without a costume on? The Morphling is actually morphed twice. For the first morph, they morph into what appears to be a goose, and then they morph again when they acquire DNA. This is why they revert to a goose costume after the morph ends. DemolitionistWhy are the ships in GGD not getting destroyed [by] the Demolitionist? They're small explosions. They engulf literally one bird! What stops the birds from tossing the bomb away instead of messily sacrificing each other? That's not how you play hot potato. You can't drop it! Why does the bomb’s fuse politely stop burning while everyone is at a meeting and then continue to burn as soon as its over? Meetings freeze everything in time. That's why you have to hit the temporal stasis emergency button or the Magical Timestop bell to call meetings. Where did the Demolitionist get all their bombs from? The bomb store. PartyWhy do some of the ducks want to party and force geese to consume helium? Do you want to party? Did the Party have a very sad childhood? No, [they are] the life of the party. Identity ThiefWhy does the Identity Thief steal the identity of the geese instead of the ducks? They steal the identity of whoever they kill. They don't discriminate (if Mimic or blind ducks are on). InvisibilityWhy can the Invisibility turn invisible? [Furthermore,] why [is it that] when they are invisible, they will be temporarily color blind? He's halfway into another dimension. He's actually completely blind, and not color blind, because, when you're invisible, light goes through your eyes. Spicy Ramen in GGD Spicy ramen can be found on every map. The age of spicy ramen is unknown, but if goose history at all resembles our own history, its existence comes after the Ducktorian era. It is my understanding that the ramen can be found in settings that are old in origin because of more recent goose and duck activity.
