I've tried putting together some basic tips and tricks I don't usually see elsewhere. You can find great info on quests, collectibles and gear locations both on Steam and the internet in general, so I'll skip over those. Things worth knowing unlike other FC games, in FC6 there are no perks to gain through experience or challenges. Instead you have 5 clothing/armor slots that provide perks. Many clothes give the same bonus and only provide a different skin. The armor set from Lost Between Worlds DLC has multiple perks per slot and is far superior to anything else, but it's pay-to-play (and frankly, all the DLC are terrible and too expensive for what they are). If you want it, wait for a sale - I got it for 10 instead of 20 bucks. Many clothes and weapons can be bought for simple Yaran pesos. Check the weapons dealers in your bases, as well as the vendors provided by some of the Camp Improvements! You want to buy everything you can either buy or find, even if you already have the bonus provided by something else, because of an important detail: the rebel caches that provide clothing go through a list. When you have already purchased the item, the cache will either instead give you the next clothing item on the list OR, if the list has run out, provide high level res like gunpowder or supremo bond. You want all the gunpowder you can get and can't buy it until the game is pretty much over, so this is preferable. Pesos have literally no worth after you bought everything you can. Hunting and fishing are, after Bandido Operations, the best way to quickly gain pesos. Note that no meat/fish will give pesos directly, you'll get crafting res that you can sell for pesos. Use appropriate clothing to double your meat/fish returns, and don't sell ALL of it for res. Keep 1-2 of each, sell your crafting res for pesos - now you can sell the rest for crafting res you want to use up, or use it for Cantina recipes. the scrounger pants automatically repair vehicles while you're inside them - what they don't tell you is how fast they repair things. Even on guerilla difficulty they enable you to outfight multiple tanks at once while inside one! Other vehicles remain vulnerable, but you can park yourself in between three tanks and take them down one by one - they make your own tanks invincible! visiting ANY workbench, even those on trails etc, will instantly refill all ammo and gadgets. all items unlocked via DLC, bought in the online store or bought with Moneda (the special operations currency Lola uses) will be unlocked for all save games. This includes a simple newgame as well as newgame+. You'll receive these items in all already existing savegames as well! you can drop new helis at car spots and unlock them for vehicle calls (horse spots only take horses however) the best aerial vehicle is the buzzer, a rebel-made tiny helicopter thing - you can easily find and scan it with your phone at some of the rebel hideouts from the network (once you upgrade them so they have a vehicle on stand-by). Note that the buzzer can be called from both heli and ship points! weapon upgrades work by category: crafting armor piercing ammo for rifles will unlock the ammo type for ALL rifles, but you must craft them again for pistols, LMGs etc. This applies to anything craftable like ammo, silencers, scopes etc. Any non-specific Supremo thing is unlocked for all Supremos (so Exterminador doing more damage only works for it, but any pocket/gadget you craft can be put on any Supremo). there is no need to unlock every gear improvement - if you wait long enough (meaning collecting the needed res) to make the best, for example, silencer for your rifle right away, you don't need to make the lesser ones. There is no situation where those will come in handy, it's just wasted res. Beware of the MkII Resolver scopes - the 4x scope has a big ugly 'X' as a target indicator that makes sniping almost impossible. Pick any scope with 'precision target' instead - even lower magnification is better! any headshot with AP ammo is an instant kill so there is little reason to unlock other ammo types. Soft target rounds are good vs animals, who are never armored, and blast rounds can be useful vs vehicles (not tanks though, which are too tough). The only benefit of incindiary and poison rounds is that they may stop enemies from attacking you for a short moment - in theory you could use a fast-firing gun to hit enemies so you can run away while they're coughing/putting out the fire but I found that more trouble than it's worth. frontal takedowns - enabled by certain clothing - are viciously OP, as they work on alerted enemies. They're instakills, with a possible 2nd kill from a QTE knife throw. Using cover carefully you can take out a full base just by running around and machete killing everybody - no need to fire a shot, and they're silent as well. Lola's special operations are considerably easier on story mode difficulty but don't give any less rewards. Since Moneda currency and their resulting purchases are shared across all savegames, it's advisable to have one savegame on story mode! make contact with all 3 factions ASAP, so you can build all the camp enhancements unlock Guerilla Hideout Network first (see camp improvements section) It's not a bad idea to visit the Monteros first, if only to unlock Chorizo. At his max level, which is easy enough to achieve, Chorizo will dig up random res on occasion. He's the only companion that actively gives you stuff. Supremos and Resolver weapons SUPREMOS They seem really cool, right? Sadly, there are basically only 3 supremos worth using: Exterminador: you get this at the start - a fun rocket backpack that auto-targets enemies. It's overkill against soldiers, but is your first way to take down vehicles, like pesky helis and tanks you initially can't otherwise deal with. After you obtain anti-vehicle weapons it's time to switch Medico: the best, most useful Supremo and the one you should use after Exterminador. You probably won't need this unless you play guerilla difficulty, but it allows you to revive after dying. Yes, you heard right - afterwards! This will save you from having to restart a mission, or just revive you after you fell to your death. Medico may sound boring but it has the clearest benefit. Triador: you can get this "secret" Supremo from the Yaran Story 'Triada Blessings'. It comes with a special rifle, and upon activation it will give you "ghost sight", highlighting enemies even in cover. The crazy part is that your rifle will shoot through cover during the activation as well, allowing you to safely dispatch difficult enemies. You can also use it to headshot-snipe tank drivers or heli pilots! Fantasma is Exterminador but fires poison, which sucks. Furioso does a ring of fire which is worse than Exterminador as well, and the promised jump boost simply does not work. Gladiador does nothing you can't do with clothes and only while it's active. Volta gives you EMP, which disables vehicles and allows you to hijack them if you want - but by the time it is available you probably have several weapons that can fire EMP munitions. Still, out of the Supremos I'm discounting, this is the most useful, especially since it can hit every vehicle in it's radius at the same time. It's still inferior to EMP munitions because it's one shot only with a long recharge - imagine taking out a heli and a tank in the same radius, then a 3rd heli/tank out of that radius will blast you... Resolver Weapons Compared to Supremos, Resolver weapons have fewer duds and thus are more fun. Only a few of them are really good, but only Discos Locos (it's bugged and loses ammo constantly) and El Besito (a poison thrower) are useless. The rest are probably less efficient than other weapons but still fun to use. The must-haves are: Pyrotechno: a fireworks launcher that is a viable anti-tank/heli weapon. It's fun and destroys pesky vehicles you can't otherwise deal with. This is usually my first Resolver and my most used. Becomes available at lvl 4. Zeusito: this thing fires EMP and is thus also a viable AV weapon. Unlike the EMP supremo it only hits one target, but has multiple shots. Note that EMP does not destroy vehicles by itself (not counting helis that drop and explode), only disables them. You will need to hijack or otherwise destroy them while they are down. Beware of other soldiers entering the vehicle if you deal with the previous drivers and then leave it alone! Becomes available at lvl 7. The rest is useful and/or fun - try them out! Only Discos Locos and El Besito are barely worth getting but since you have enough uranium on the map to buy everything, you might as well buy them - last, of course! Camp Improvements - the most important There are 6 possible camp improvements and you can build 2 per base, of which there are 3. Each improvement costs two res out of metal, gasoline and medicine, and has 3 levels that each increase in cost. It's advisable to make contact with all three factions ASAP so you can build everything soon. Guerilla Hideout Network This is the most important one - at lvl 1 you can buy hideout locations that unlock several hideouts all over the map. You can fasttravel there right away, opening up the entire map. At level 2 you will find loot chests at each location, which will give you small amounts of gasoline, medicine and metal. They reset each 24 real-time hours. Lvl 3 gives you more res and adds extra crafting res depending on your level. There's a scout at each location that will give you info on new missions, checkpoints etc, and they will refresh every time you fasttravel there. You can literally travel around the map gathering mission info until there are no more new ones, should you desire so. GHN also gives you the wingsuit at lvl 2 and lets you air drop on top of bases. Guerrilla Garrison The most important feature here is the vendor that will sell you gear for pesos. You want this because buying the gear will mean the cache on the map that would otherwise contain the item will give you something else instead. When there are no clothes to give, you'll get high level crafting res! Bandidos Barracks Bandido operations are one of the main ways to get res. It's a 'multiple choice' minigame that explains itself fairly well, just go ahead and use them ASAP. You will gain all kinds of res, including the highly desired gunpowder, some weapons, charms and even Moneda (an extra currency that allows you to buy overclocked weapons, the best of all, from Lola) - but it's also one of the main sources of pesos - with which you can buy clothing and armor, as noted above. You can do limited Bandido operations even before building this improvement, but each level of BO improvements will help tremendously. You start with one leader and can recruit 7 more, but they are spaced around the map and so it will take some time to gather them. Don't sleep on the pesos-based vendor this unlocks as well! Hunter's Lodge, Fishing Hut and La Cantina Pretty straightforward. HL is for hunting, FH for fishing, LC for cooking. These improvements work well together, level them as you see fit, but take care of the other 3 improvements first. The Cantina unlocks more recipes with higher levels and increases the duration of the effect - 6 real-time hours at level 3 (does not advance in menu or when not in the game at all, so that's a pretty sweet deal!). There are really, really good recipes - for one snook you get 6h of finding extra crafting res and animal meat (both would take a clothing slot each!), and you can prep for missions with specials like higher fire res and automatically putting out fire, better resistances against a form of damage etc. Both HL and FL give you some gear and special perks at higher levels, they are neat to have but not essential. At lvl 3 you can use even explosives to hunt or fish without damaging meat, which can be nice for animal groups. Don't forget to check the vendors HL and FL provide, but they're not nearly as good as the vendors from GG and BB.
