Cogtortion's Aimlab Tips Cogtortion's Tips For Aimlab Anyways, Im not great at aimlab by any means, but there a few settings and other things that over time I have noticed helped me do better when training in aimlab: Settings: Hide weapon Turn off muzzle flash, bullet shells, and target destruction (so when you hit a target it simply disappears) Turn weapon firing sound and music off (set to 0) and target hit sound up to 100, this helps me process ive destroyed a target faster than visually Edit the graybox "level" and make the background/wall texture very dark^ In other words, settings wise I remove anything that could possibly be a distraction Gameplay: Before playing Gridshot Ultimate I play Gridshot speed to help me get used to aiming in the center, then sometimes precision. When I was little and played tetris, I noticed if I start on level 99 (where its super quick and hard) that the normal speed afterwards felt way way slower, and I did better. This is my Gridshot version of doing that, playing the harder modes of speed and precision before I play Ultimate. For the first 5 seconds or so I go slow enough to make sure I aim centerish on the orbs, then f6 to restart, go a bit faster, and repeat until I feel like I am at that tipping point between speed and precision. I dont do this every time, only when I start training, or if I am missing more than I should. This one is just for when im getting frustrated: I put a custom hitsound in my settings that is a fart noise. If im getting ragey or upset, I pop on the fart noise for a game or two and it usually puts me back into happy camper mode. Misc things that help me: Before starting training I do a simple eye exercise for 30-60 seconds, place your finger a few inches from your eyes and focus on it for a few seconds, then focus on something in the distance (at least 10-15 feet away) for a few seconds, go back and forth between finger focus and far away focus for at least 30 seconds. It will "tighten" up the muscles in your eye to help you focus quicker (and is great for overall eye health) 20 seconds or so of breathing work before starting each round, inhale 3 seconds through nose, exhale 4 seconds from mouth, repeat 3 or 4 times (Kinda like you are preparing to go underwater to hold your breathe) gets your blood nice and oxygenated just in case you breathe weird during the 60 second time limit (I noticed that half the time I get so zoned in I almost forget to breathe!) CBD Oil, if its legal where you live (not talking about anything with THC, just the pure CBD oil drops you put under your tongue) - except, put one drop on each knuckle of your mouse hand and massage it in, after 20-30 minutes it should do its magic, ive noticed it seems to make my fingers able to twitch-click quicker, and really helps my fingers and hand from tiring out or cramping. During the 5 second countdown I repeat to myself "My muscles know what to do" because i know that as far as pure muscle memory, they do, i have to take my brain out of the equation as best I can and let the muscles do their work. And mentally relax my shoulder and arm as much as possible. The more tense my shooting arm is the worse I do. Also during the 5 seconds, I make myself smile. I know, weird... But if I can go in the match smiling, I do better. I know scientifically smiling releases some special chemicals, for me it seems to help me from getting tense or mentally worrying about how im doing during the match. And finally, this one is a bit weird, but for me personally, my inner voice always takes over mid-round, saying random ♥♥♥♥ or thinking about other things, so I just pick a very short word I can repeat in my head every time I click fire. First it was "blue" but i started to get fast enough i couldnt say it repeatedly in my mind, as quick as i was shooting. So I started using "boom" in my head after that, but now im onto "bam", which i can say mentally 7 or 8 times a second. I dont always do this, but if my inner voice starts taking over and saying things like "cmon you got this!" or "oh f**k i missed" or "I have to take the dog out to pee" etc etc, I use this tactic to forcefully clear my mind of its random nonsense. This may not apply to you, I have no idea how normal it is for a persons inner voice to start rambling, I just know that mine does it, and usually at the worst times (knowing im 30 seconds in and am doing better than ever, sure to get a high score, will start my inner voice saying things that always make me screw up the last 30 seconds... "oh you are doing so good keep going just dont mis--fudge, i missed!") End Hope some of this helps, especially since I just made you read a novel. ːluvː On the plus side I learned how to format discussion posts! (go me!) Thanks for reading
