The Pro Starter Guide To Being an Abyss ImmortalDescription: This guide provides a high-level "Pro Meta" blueprint for dominating the early game in Wizardry Variants Daphne. It cuts through the complexity of alignment conflicts by teaching players how to utilize Neutral pivots to bridge Good and Evil legendary synergies. What Makes This Guide Interesting It challenges the common assumption that "Named" characters are always best. We break down the "God Roll" mechanics—such as the 19 Vitality Dwarf and 8 BP Thief—that allow generic units to outclass A-tier heroes. The Scope Gacha Order of Operations: Step-by-step instructions for the Legendary Bone Selector. Stat Allocation: Precision builds for legendary priests and tanks to maximize Action Speed and Divine Power. The "Unbreakable" Formation: A comprehensive layout for balancing Tanking, DPS, and Trap Management. Strategic Do's and Don'ts: Pro-tier habits to prevent accidental character loss and party wipes. The Perfect Party Setup Based on elite-tier synergy, here is the recommended "Pro" formation: The Front Line: Lanavaille (Knight): Your Good-aligned lead tank and passive healer. MainCharacter (Wanderer): Your Neutral-aligned high STR main damage dealer. Ironwall (Knight): The Neutral-aligned "God Roll" Dwarf with 19 Vitality. The Back Line: Jean (Thief): High-luck trap specialist. Alice (Priest): The Evil-aligned legendary buffer. Allocate +5 Speed and +3 Piety for optimal performance. Yekaterina (Mage): Your primary Neutral-aligned AoE magic dealer. Strategic Do's and Don'ts: Pro-tier habits to prevent accidental character loss and party wipes. Introduction This guide provides a high-level "Pro Meta" blueprint for dominating the early game in Wizardry Variants Daphne. It cuts through the complexity of alignment conflicts by teaching players how to utilize Neutral pivots to bridge Good and Evil legendary synergies, Team Formations, understanding how to maximize godrolls, maximizing your gacha, and picking the best Legendary Bone Character. Whenever the term "Ironwall" is referenced, it is a nickname in direct reference to an "Iron Wall" - a godroll 8 BP (8 Bonus Points) Dwarven Knight of Neutral or Good Allignment. Hence the nickname "Ironwall". Before we start, I genuinely want to give a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to read my guide. I truly hope with this extra information I was able to help you go into this game with more confidence with an optimized start. Please consider Favouriting and Rating the guide so more players may find it. Step 1 (And Most Important): GodRolling Your Main Character (MC) Before Playing Before you even touch a Legendary Bone, your most important "Wish" is the creation of your Main Character (MC). Starting with a Neutral Alignment and high Strength is the pro-tier foundation for a 10/10 party. The Power of Neutral Alignment The Synergy Bridge: Neutral is the most powerful alignment because it acts as a "bridge". Good Synergy: Your MC can stand next to Lanavaille (Good) and receive her full row-buffs without penalty. Evil Synergy: Your MC can also benefit from Alice’s (Evil) legendary passives, which boost Neutral units. Flexibility: Unlike Good or Evil characters, a Neutral MC can be placed in any formation without breaking the party’s morale or passive triggers. The Question & Answer "God Roll" During the opening sequence, the goddess will ask you a series of questions. Your answers dictate your starting stats and alignment. Goal: You are aiming for a 18 Strength (STR) roll. Why 18 STR?: This allows your MC to act as a primary physical carry, capable of one-shotting early-game threats and scaling massively with two-handed weapons. The Strategy: If you do not get at least 15-18 STR and a Neutral alignment, it is common pro-practice to reset and try again before proceeding to the first floor. Optimized Q&A Path (Note: If you want to force Neutral, aim for answers that prioritize pragmatism and balance over extreme justice or extreme malice.) Step 2: The Pro Strat Before Using Your 100 Gold Legendary Bone at the Prologue: Follow this sequence to ensure your Legendary Bone isn't wasted: 1. The Selection (The Bone Picker) Always prioritize Alice (Dark One's Maiden) if you need a high-speed healer/buffer. If your frontline is weak, Lanavaille is the premier choice for her passive "Victory Heal" and tanking capability. 2. The Bonus Point (BP) Threshold Do not settle for the standard 5-6 Bonus Points. [] A God Roll is considered 8 to 10 Bonus Points (BP). These points are permanent and determine if your character can hit the "Action Speed" break-points required for Floor B2 and beyond. 3. Immediate Allocation Priority Speed (SPD): For Alice, Allocate at least +5 into Speed. Acting before the enemy allows you to cast shields and buffs, effectively "negating" turn-one damage. Piety (PIE): Put remaining points here for Priests to increase Divine Power and MP pool. Strength (STR): Maximize this for your MC to ensure they can one-shot mobs with Physical skills. Info: Common Misunderstanding in Early - Mid Abyss: Noob Players often don't favor God-Roll Generics in the early-to-mid game. Many new players make the mistake of thinking only "Named" legendary characters are worth using. However, a perfectly rolled "Generic" unit can often carry you further in the Abyss than a base-stat hero. Why an "Ironwall" Dwarf Knight Out-Tanks Legends The 19 Vitality (VIT) Cap: By rolling for a Dwarf Knight with 19 Vitality, you create a character with a massive base HP pool that scales exponentially with level. Stat Superiority: A Generic unit with 8–10 Bonus Points allows you to manually fix their weaknesses (like Speed) while maintaining their natural racial strengths. The Meat Shield Strategy: Characters like "Ironwall" allow your legendary damage dealers (Alice/Yekaterina) to survive without taking a single hit. Jean: The 8 BP Luck Specialist Trap Logic: Legendary thieves often have balanced stats, but for Floor B2, you need specialized Luck. The Luck Dump: A Generic Thief like Jean with 8 Bonus Points dumped entirely into Luck will disarm traps that legendary heroes would fail. Survival over Rarity: Failing a trap check can wipe your entire party; in this game, high stats beat high rarity every time. How to Spot a God-Tier Generic When "Character Wishing," look for these specific criteria before finalizing: Class Critical Stat Required BP Knight (Dwarf) 18-19 VIT 8+ BP Thief 15+ LUK 8+ BP Mage 16+ IQ 7+ BP Step 3: Alignment Bridging: The Neutral Pivot In Wizardry Variants Daphne, your party’s alignment is not just flavor text—it is a mechanical engine. If you mix "Good" and "Evil" characters haphazardly, you will lose access to powerful Passive Row Buffs and Link Actions. The Problem: Alignment Friction Good (Lanavaille): Her buffs often trigger for those of similar heart. Evil (Alice): Her passives often exclude "Good" characters, making them useless if the party isn't built correctly. The Solution: The "Neutral" Bridge Neutral characters (like your 18 STR MC, Dwarve Knight "Ironwall", and Yekaterina) are the "Universal Adapters" of the Abyss. Universal Buff Reception: Neutral units can receive buffs from both Good and Evil leaders simultaneously. Moral Stability: By surrounding a Good character with Neutral ones, you prevent the party's "Affection" levels from plummeting, which is critical for unlocking powerful Link Actions later in the game. Row Integrity: Placing your Neutral MC in the center of the front row allows them to "bridge" the gap between a Good Knight and an Evil Rogue/Priest without breaking formation bonuses. Visualizing the Synergy Flow Left (Good) Center (Neutral) Right (Neutral) Lanavaille MC (Neutral Bridge) Dwarve Knight "Ironwall" In this setup, the MC and Dwarve Knight "Ironwall" are receiving the "Good" aura from Lanavaille, while still being eligible for "Evil" back-row buffs from Alice. Noob-Friendly Pro Meta Formation Guide: "The Unbreakable Grid" Section 4: Formation Guide: The Unbreakable 9/10 Grid In the Abyss, your position is your life. A single character in the wrong row can prevent a Priest from reaching them with a heal or a Tank from intercepting a lethal blow. Below is the exact 9/10 Rating formation we have optimized for early-to-mid game dominance. The Front Line: The Neutral or Good Dwarve-Knight "Iron Wall" Slot 1 (Left): Lanavaille (Good) — Positioned on the flank to maximize her "Victory Heal" aura across the front row. Slot 2 (Center): YOUR MC (Neutral) — The "Bridge." By standing in the center, the MC can be targeted by buffs from both the Left and Right flanks, while acting as the primary DPS pivot. Slot 3 (Right): Dwarven Knight "Ironwall" (Neutral or Good) — Your 19 VIT Dwarf. Placing him on the right ensures he draws "Aggro" away from the squishier back-row units like your Mage. The Back Line: The "Strategic Engine" Slot 4 (Left): Jean (Neutral) — Your 8 BP Luck Specialist. Keep him behind Lanavaille for protection. His job is strictly trap management and chip damage. Slot 5 (Center): Alice (Evil) — CRITICAL POSITIONING. Alice must be in the back-center. Her legendary passives boost the damage and speed of all Neutral units in her row. From the center, she buffs both Jean and Yekaterina simultaneously. Slot 6 (Right): Yekaterina (Neutral) — Your AoE glass cannon. She sits behind the high-VIT Dwarf (Ironwall) for maximum physical protection while she rains down spells. Why This Works (The "Pro" Logic) This formation creates a Synergy Loop. Lanavaille heals the front, Alice buffs the back, and the Neutral units in the middle absorb the benefits of both without any alignment friction. FRONT Lanavaille (G) MC (N) Ironwall (N) BACK Jean (N) Alice (E) Yekaterina (N) Optimizing Alice & Ironwall Once you have secured your 8-10 Bonus Point (BP) units, you must allocate those points with surgical precision. In Wizardry Variants Daphne, "balanced" stats are a trap. Specialization is the key to survival. Alice: The Speed-Priest Build Alice is your engine. If she moves after the enemies, your party is already dead. Primary Stat: Speed (SPD) [+5 to +7 Points] — You need Alice to act first to apply shields or "Haste" to the party before the enemy takes their turn. Secondary Stat: Piety (PIE) [+3 to +5 Points] — This increases her total MP and her "Divine Power" (healing potency). Pro Tip: Do NOT put points into Strength or Agility for Alice. She is a back-row caster; her physical accuracy doesn't matter. Ironwall: The Unmovable Dwarf Your 19 VIT Dwarf Knight needs to be a brick wall that never misses a block. Primary Stat: Vitality (VIT) [Max to 19] — If he didn't roll 19 naturally, use your BP to get him there immediately to maximize HP scaling. Secondary Stat: Strength (STR) — After VIT is capped, dump remaining points here. This ensures that when he uses "Shield Bash" or "Cover," he can still contribute meaningful chip damage to break enemy guards. The Speed Clause: Only put points into Speed for a Knight if you find they are consistently being "lapped" (moving twice as slow) by bosses. The "Main Character" Carry Build Since your MC is a Neutral Bridge DPS, their build is simple: Primary Stat: Strength (STR) — Aim for 18+ STR. This allows you to equip the heaviest 2-handed weapons without accuracy penalties. Secondary Stat: Luck (LUK) — A few points here will help your MC land critical hits and resist status ailments like "Paralyze" or "Fear." Character Priority 1 Priority 2 Dump Stat (Avoid) Alice (Legendary) Speed Piety Strength Ironwall (Generic) Vitality Strength Intelligence MC (Neutral) Strength Luck Piety Pro Tips: The Do's and Don'ts, and End Of Guide Thankyou Survival in the Abyss is about more than just stats; it's about discipline. Use these "Pro" habits to ensure your 9/10 Rating party stays alive and your legendary units remain in your roster. The "Pro" Do's DO: Abuse Lanavaille’s "Victory Heal" — Lanavaille provides a passive heal to the row after a battle is won. If your front line is dinged up, stall the last enemy in a weak mob to let her passive procs top everyone off for free. DO: Nickname Your God-Rolls — Immediately go to the character screen and rename your 19 VIT Dwarf to "Ironwall" or your 8 BP Thief to "Jean-TrapMaster." This prevents you from accidentally using them as Skill Inheritance fodder. DO: Use the "Return" Spell Early — If Alice is out of MP and your MC is poisoned, LEAVE. The Abyss is a marathon, not a sprint. Greed is the number one cause of permanent character loss. The "Pro" Don'ts DON'T: Ignore the "Fear" Status — If a character is inflicted with Fear, they have a high chance of refusing to act or even fleeing the battle entirely. Use a consumable or Alice’s cleansing spells immediately. DON'T: Blindly Trust "Auto-Equip" — The auto-equip function often prioritizes raw Defense over Speed or Elemental Resistance. Manually check Alice’s gear to ensure she keeps her high Speed rating. DON'T: Forget to Save Your "Bones" — Don't spend all your Legendary Bones on the first banner you see. Wait for "Rate Up" banners for specific synergies that fit your Neutral Pivot strategy. The Golden Rule of the Abyss "Search all you want. You won’t like what you find, and you certainly won’t like what finds you." If you find yourself in a room you aren't prepared for, it has already found you. Turn back, restock, and dive again with a plan. I genuinely want to give a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to read my guide.
