INTRODUCTION Grapples Galore is a multiplayer game that requires at least three people to complete all of its achievements. This is very unfortunate for people like me who hunts the achievements alone. But do not fret, as this guide may help you alleviate the dreadful experience of completing these multiplayer achievements. Credits to brazy* for some of the information covered here. BASIC CONTROLS W, A, S, and D lets you move forward, to your left, backward, and to your right respectively. Pressing Space lets you jump. Left clicking lets you activate your left grapple. Right clicking lets you activate your right grapple. Pressing F lets you shoot (or stab) your enemies if you are holding a weapon. You can adjust the controls in the OPTIONS. 1+ PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS This section is dedicated to the four achievements that you can do alone. It also gives you some time to learn on how to play the game. Achievement Name Requirement Hooked Beat an obstacle course. For this achievement, you have to complete the obstacle course game mode. You can simply join a lobby that has this game mode enabled or you can host it yourself. I highly recommend hosting it yourself (privately) because other players can kill you while you are progressing through the course. If you die, you lose all your progress and have to start over again. 1. On the main menu, select Host Lobby. 2. There are four game modes: FREE FOR ALL, TEAM DEATHMATCH, GUN GAME, and OBSTACLE COURSE. Select the OBSTACLE COURSE game mode by pressing the right arrow once (or the left arrow three times). 3. There are two options for Visibility: Public (anyone can join) and Friends Only (private). Press Visibility once to select Friends Only. You may choose Public if you want anyone to join your game, but I would not recommend it for this guide. 4. Now, press HOST. 5. From here on, take your time to practice the mechanics of the game and work your way through the obstacle course. There is no time limit. You will earn the achievement afterwards. Achievement Name Requirement Catching On Win 1 game. Don't Forget To Take A Break Win 10 games. Grappling with your Addiction Win 100 games. These achievements are not difficult on its own since you can do them alone. However, it can be quite tedious. You can either do them legitimately by joining public lobbies or by hosting the lobby yourself. I highly recommend hosting the lobby yourself (whether you plan to do it legitimately or not) because the host can kick you at any time or the lobby closes if the host leaves the game. 1. On the main menu, select Host Lobby. 2. Select any game mode aside from the OBSTACLE COURSE by pressing the right or left arrows. You can select OBSTACLE COURSE but you need to complete the course before winning the game (which I would not recommend for this guide). 3. Press Visibility once to select Friends Only. You may choose Public if you want anyone to join your game but I would not recommend it. 4. There are four options for Match Length: 2, 5, 10, and 20. This setting determines how long each match will last. Select 2 so that the match only last for 2 minutes. 5. Press NEXT. 6. Now, press HOST. 7. From here on, wait for the match to end. You can use this time to practice the mechanics of the game so you will be prepared for the other achievements. You can also let the game run in the background and do something else. You will earn the Catching On achievement once the match ends. Afterwards, a new match will automatically start. Hence you can do this 10 and 100 times to get the other two achievements while idling. Altogether, this will take around 3.3 hours to complete. Other players may join the game if you made the lobby public. In such case, you need to have the highest number of kills plus assists to win. You will earn the Catching On achievement at the end of the match if you get the highest score. Repeat this 10 and 100 times to get the other two. If you do not feel like waiting for players to join your lobby. 1. On the main menu, select Join Lobby. 2. Select the lobby with the lowest number of players in it. 3. Win the game by getting the most kills + assists. Repeat this 100 times to get all the achievements covered by this section. Keep in mind that the host can kick you at any time or the lobby closes if the host leaves the game which can undermine your progress. 2+ PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS (1) This section is dedicated to the achievements that require at least two people to complete. These might be difficult for you if you are not very skilled at the game or if you do not have anyone to play with. But do not worry, I can help you with that! Just contact me anytime and I will help you earn these achievements. If you have found someone to play with, or doing it alone in public lobbies, then go ahead and follow the guide below. WITH A FRIEND 1. On the main menu, select Host Lobby. 2. There are four game modes: FREE FOR ALL, TEAM DEATHMATCH, GUN GAME, and OBSTACLE COURSE. Select the FREE FOR ALL game mode. 3. There are two options for Visibility: Public (anyone can join) and Friends Only (private). Press Visibility once to select Friends Only. You may choose Public if you want anyone to join your game, but I would not recommend it for this guide. 4. There are four options for Match Length: 2, 5, 10, and 20. This setting determines how long each match will last. Select 20 so that the match lasts for 20 minutes. This should give you enough time to unlock all the achievements covered here. 5. Do not deselect the weapon choices. You need them all to be highlighted. 6. Press NEXT. 7. There are 8 maps to choose from. Any map will work, but I highly recommend the Train map for this guide. Deselect all maps except for the Train map by clicking on each map until it is no longer highlighted. 8. Now, press HOST. 9. Have your friend join your private lobby by letting them select Join Lobby on the main menu and clicking on the lobby you are hosting. You need to be friends on Steam. It will not appear if you are not. WITHOUT A FRIEND 1. On the main menu, select Host Lobby. 2. There are four game modes: FREE FOR ALL, TEAM DEATHMATCH, GUN GAME, and OBSTACLE COURSE. Select the FREE FOR ALL game mode. 3. There are two options for Visibility: Public (anyone can join) and Friends Only (private). Select Public. 4. Keep in mind that the host can kick you at any time or the lobby closes if the host leaves the game which can undermine your progress. 2+ PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS (2) Achievement Name Requirement Hitchiker Grapple onto another player. This one is simple. 1. Just aim your cursor at someone and use your grapple by left or right clicking. You will earn the achievement once you successfully landed your grapple unto them. Achievement Name Requirement First Blood Get 1 kill total. Dead Or Alive Get a bounty. Taste for Blood Get 10 kills total. Killionaire Kill 10 players without dying. Bloodthirsty Get 100 kills total. Pretty straightforward. 1. Get a weapon. The locations of the weapons are already highlighted on the screen. 2. Kill someone with that weapon. Grab another weapon if you run out of bullets. 3. Do not die under any circumstances until you have killed 3 players for the Dead Or Alive achievement and/or 10 players for the Killionaire achievement. 4. You will earn the First Blood achievement for your first kill, the Dead Or Alive achievement if you get 3 kills without dying, the Taste for Blood achievement for your 10th kill, the Killionaire achievement if you have not died during the process, and the Bloodthirsty achievement for your 100th kill. If you did not get the Dead Or Alive achievement and/or the Killionaire achievement, you will need to repeat the process from the beginning. Achievement Name Requirement Hold Still Kill someone 200+ meters away with a crossbow. Sharpshooter Kill someone 300+ meters away with a sniper. The reason why you need to choose the Train map among others is because of these achievements. Its long, straight, and open path makes it easier for you to scope some kills from hundreds of meters away. If you are doing these with a friend. 1. Get a crossbow. 2. Place yourself at one end of the map and the opposite end of the map to your friend. 3. Kill your friend from the distance using your crossbow. You will get the Hold Still achievement afterwards. 4. Get a sniper. 5. Again, place yourself at one end of the map and the opposite end of the map to your friend. 6. Kill your friend from the distance using your sniper. It might take some attempts, but you will get the Sharpshooter achievement. If you are doing these without a friend. 1. Get a crossbow. 2. Place yourself at one end of the map and wait for someone to pass through the opposite end of the map. 3. IMMEDIATELY kill someone from that distance before they can escape. If you succeeded, then you will earn the Hold Still achievement. Keep in mind that they might move while trying to get away from you. You need to ensure your target does not move too near from your location or you might not get the achievement. 4. Get a sniper. 5. Again, place yourself at one end of the map and wait for someone to pass through the opposite end of the map. 6. IMMEDIATELY kill someone from that distance before they can escape. If you succeeded, then you will earn the Sharpshooter achievement. Keep in mind that they might move while trying to get away from you. You need to ensure your target does not move too near from your location or you might not get the achievement. Achievement Name Requirement Hasta La Vista, Baby Get 3 kills with 1 shotgun. If you are doing this with a friend. 1. Get a shotgun. Your shotgun has 6 bullets. Two shots can guarantee a kill if you fire them while you are close to your target. 2. Get close to your friend and shoot them twice. This should kill them and you should have 4 bullets remaining at this point. 3. Let your friend respawn. After their invincibility wears off (no more “blue aura” around them), get close to them again and shoot them twice. This should kill them which leaves you with 2 bullets. 4. Once more, let your friend respawn. After their invincibility wears off, get close to them and shoot them twice. This should kill them. If you do this successfully, you will get the achievement. If you are doing this without a friend. 1. Get a shotgun. Your shotgun has 6 bullets. Two shots can guarantee a kill if you fire them while you are close to your target. But I highly recommend prioritizing enemies with less than half health so you can one-shot them and keep an extra bullet to use later. 2. Find a target (prioritize the ones with low health) and try to get close to them. Aim your cursor near them and shoot them. It should kill them while having at least two bullets. 3. Find another target. Do note that you MUST prioritize the ones with low health if you only have two bullets left at this point. Aim your cursor near them and shoot them. It should kill them while having at least one bullet. 4. Find your last target. Do note that you MUST prioritize the ones with low health if you only have one bullet left at this point. Aim your cursor near them and use your remaining bullet to kill them. You will get the achievement afterwards. 2+ PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS (3) Achievement Name Requirement Heavy Weapons Guy Hit every shot with a minigun. If you are doing this with a friend. 1. Get a minigun. Your minigun has 30 bullets. Do not die at this point. 2. Let your friend face a wall and do not let them move at this point. 3. Aim your cursor near them, then fire your bullets one by one, slowly, until you kill your friend. Adjust your aim and positioning as needed since recoil might move your crosshair. Be careful not to overshoot. 4. Let your friend respawn. After their invincibility wears off, let your friend face the wall again and repeat STEP 3. 5. Let your friend respawn. After their invincibility wears off, let your friend face the wall again and repeat STEP 3. It will not kill them at this point but you will get the achievement if you did the procedures right. If not, do this all over again. If you are doing this without a friend, you need to do it the hard way. 1. Get a minigun. Your minigun has 30 bullets. 2. Do not die at this point. 3. Find someone who is AFK or not moving. Aim your cursor near them, then fire your bullets one by one, slowly, until you kill them. Adjust your aim and positioning as needed since recoil might move your crosshair. Be careful not to overshoot. If you cannot find someone who is AFK or not moving, find a target, grapple them like you did for the first achievement covered in this section, and shoot them until you kill them. Again, do not overshoot. 4. Repeat STEP 3 until you have used up all your bullets. You will get the achievement once you do this successfully. If not, you will need to repeat the procedure once again. Achievement Name Requirement Jack Of All Trades Get a kill with every weapon in one game. You can do this in any order, but it needs to be done within a single match: 1. Get a pistol and kill someone with it. 2. Get a burst rifle and kill someone with it. 3. Get a machete and kill someone with it. 4. Get a laser gun and kill someone with it. If you did the previous achievements while in the same match, you will get the achievement here. Otherwise, proceed with the remaining steps. 5. Get a minigun and kill someone with it. 6. Get a sniper and kill someone with it. 7. Get an RPG and kill someone with it. 8. Get a crossbow and kill someone with it. 9. Get a shotgun and kill someone with it. Once successful, you will get the achievement. Achievement Name Requirement Bounty Hunter Claim a bounty. If you are doing this with a friend: 1. Let your friend kill you at least three times using any weapon without them dying. At that point, you should be able to clearly see them through walls and they will have a golden aura surrounding them. 2. Once that happens, you can kill them to get the achievement. If you are doing this without a friend: 1. Get any weapon, preferably a high-DPS one (RPG is the best weapon here). 2. Find someone you can clearly see through walls who has a golden aura around them. If you cannot find anyone like that, wait for a player who kills at least three people without them dying. 3. Once you spot them, immediately kill them using your weapon to get the achievement. Achievement Name Requirement Outsourcing Win an FFA game with only assists. Your lobby must be a FREE FOR ALL game mode. If you are doing this with a friend. 1. Let the match end by pressing ENTER, then chat /endgame. It will automatically restart a new match. 2. DO NOT KILL your friend at this point. 3. Get a weapon. Make sure that weapon will not kill your friend immediately (do not use RPG and SNIPER). 4. Shoot your friend once. 5. Let your friend kill themselves by jumping out of bounds or shooting themselves with an RPG. 4. Let the match end by pressing ENTER, then chat /endgame. If successful, you will get the Outsourcing achievement. If you are doing this without a friend and you are hosting the lobby. 1. Wait for a new match to begin. 2. DO NOT KILL ANYONE AT THIS POINT. 3. You need to make sure that you are the TOP player with only assists and no kills and end the match immediately. Your lobby should also have three or more players or otherwise this may now work. 4. Get a weapon. Make sure that weapon will not kill someone immediately (do not use RPG and SNIPER). 5. Shoot/stab someone without letting them die from your own and hide immediately. Wait for them to be killed by themselves or by other players. 6. It should notify you when you have an assist kill. Once you are notified, check your KILL, ASSIST, DEATH status by pressing TAB. If you are the TOP player, immediately press ENTER then chat /endgame to end the match. If not, you can kick the players above you by manually clicking the kick button and immediately press ENTER then chat /endgame to end the match. 7. If successful, you will get the Outsourcing achievement. If you are doing this without a friend and you are not hosting the lobby. 1. Wait for a new match to begin. 2. DO NOT KILL ANYONE AT THIS POINT. 3. This is the tricky part. You need to make sure that you are the TOP player with only assists and no kills. The lobby should also have three or more players or otherwise this may now work. It is also preferable if the lobby lasts 2 to 5 minutes. 4. Get a weapon. Make sure that weapon will not kill someone immediately (do not use RPG and SNIPER). 5. Shoot/stab someone without letting them die from your own. Repeat STEP 4 and 5 again and again until the end of the match. 6. Make sure you are the TOP player with assists and NO KILLS until the end of the match. You can check your KILLS, ASSISTS, and DEATHS status by pressing TAB. 7. If successful, you will get the Outsourcing achievement. 3+ PLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS This section is dedicated to achievements that require at least three people to complete. These are clearly impossible for loners like me. However, you can earn these achievements in public lobbies as they are not particularly difficult to obtain. If you want to host the lobby. 1. On the main menu, select Host Lobby. 2. There are four game modes: FREE FOR ALL, TEAM DEATHMATCH, GUN GAME, and OBSTACLE COURSE. Select the TEAM DEATHMATCH game mode to get the b]Taking Flight[/b] achievement. Otherwise, select any game mode aside from TEAM DEATHMATCH to get the other two achievements covered here. 3. There are two options for Visibility: Public (anyone can join) and Friends Only (private). Select Public. 4. There are four options for Match Length: 2, 5, 10, and 20. This setting determines how long each match will last. Select 20 so that the match lasts for 20 minutes. This should give you enough time to unlock all the achievements covered here. 5. Deselect all weapons except the RPG and the Burst Rifle by clicking at the weapon once and seeing those weapons not highlighted. 6. Press NEXT. 7. There are 8 maps to choose from. Any map should work. 8. Now, press HOST. If not. 1. On the main menu, select Join Lobby. 2. Look for a lobby with the TEAM DEATHMATCH game mode. If you did not see one, any game mode will work for now. However, keep in mind that you will eventually need to join a TEAM DEATHMATCH lobby for the Taking Flight achievement. 3. Make sure the lobby you are joining has the RPG and/or Burst Rifle weapons enabled. You can check this by hovering your cursor over the Join Lobby button. If the RPG and/or Burst Rifle is not highlighted, look for another lobby where those weapons are enabled. Achievement Name Requirement Taking Flight Explode a teammate with a barrel in TDM. This achievement requires for you to join a TEAM DEATHMATCH lobby. 1. Get any weapon. 2. Find an explosive barrel. Position yourself where you cannot be seen by your enemies while can still shoot the barrel from afar and wait for your teammate to get near to that barrel. 3. If your teammate is near to that barrel then immediately shoot the barrel until it explodes. You will get the achievement afterwards. Achievement Name Requirement One Stone Kill 2+ players with 1 RPG. Needs some patience and right timing to do so. A lobby with a game mode other than TEAM DEATHMATCH gives you more opportunities to earn this achievement. Furthermore you are almost guaranteed to earn this achievement if the lobby has only the RPG weapon enabled. 1. Get an RPG. 2. Wait for two and more enemies to fight for each other and shoot them immediately. If you are successful then you get the achievement. Achievement Name Requirement Collateral Damage Hit multiple players with one burst. Needs some patience and right timing to do so. A lobby with a game mode other than TEAM DEATHMATCH gives you more opportunities to earn this achievement. Furthermore you are almost guaranteed to earn this achievement if the lobby has only the Burst Rifle weapon enabled. 1. Get a Burst Rifle. It fires three rounds with a single click, meaning you will need to hit two or more enemies with just one click to earn the achievement. However, you can keep firing while aiming at multiple enemies until you get it. 2. Wait for two and more enemies to fight for each other and shoot them immediately. If you are successful then you get the achievement. If you have made it this far, then congratulations! You have now 100% completed Grapples Galore!
