My recommendations Now, you can do what you want with the information I posted above, this next part is simply how I would recommend going about this. Bassanio Falls is my favorite place, lots of money, pretty close to home. I'd start there. Save every emperor fish you get if you would like a good rod later on. Personally I could go through 100+ caterpillars a day, so go fishing with a big stack of caterpillars and stay for awhile. Popping by every now and then is ok too, just a little out of the way location wise. (I'd only do this if you have the classic rod) I love fishing in MTAP so I got the classic rod ASAP, however, if you are just trying to pop in to earn some quick gols, the Collapsed Wasteland is good. Wise fish are easier to catch than goliaths which make it easier to earn more gols. When you get the classic rod, the timing doesn't make too much of a difference. Fishing competition is a must. Rare fish spawn during the event that are much harder to come by during the rest of the year without actively searching for them. Also very good cash, especially for beginners since it is in spring. Pinky likes emperor gladiator (560 gols), goliath (700 gols), wise (640 gols), and latern fish (180 gols) as well as an emperor blue mackerel (360 gols). That emperor latern fish, while being cheap, is very hard to come by with its highest percentage being 2.96% chance of spawning in the Western Beach and Somber Marsh area. The emperor goliath, however has a spawn chance of 4.43% in Bassanio Falls and the Emperor Gladiator has a spawn chance of 4.44% in Starlight island. For me, I just waited until the fishing competition came around, and when it did, ALL SORTS OF RARE FISH APPEARED at the competition allowing me to be able to share a little with Pinky. Most people seem neutral to fish with a few exceptions but, as far as I know, only Pinky has a real LOVE for fish. Except for Qiwa (dark purple-shirted) but Idc about him personally, so I'd just get him some roses, it's less work. Breeding fish is also something that you can do, however, it is more of a waiting game than and isn't really a quick cash maker, more like an investment. The basics are that you craft a fish tank, put in two fish of the same type and quality, feed them, wait a few days, and then you have a fish with the exact same quality and type. There are other factors that go into fish breeding such as the capacity of the fish tank, and the waiting time of each fish.
