Biovida is a state-owned company owned by the Yaran government dedicated to improving people's quality of life. His head is Dr. Edgar Reyes, the discoverer of the experimental drug known as Viviro. The organization was created from the financing of the foreign company McKay Global, as well as the development of the substance that has the same name as its production subsidiary, and with the presidency of Anton Castillo, Biovida had the support of the new regime and the future sale of Viviro to become an international company. Who Is Sean McKay? Sean McKay is a Canadian businessman and follower of Antón Castillo who owns McKay Global. Sean is an serial imperialist who handles Antón's Viviro imports and exports from El Este. Sean McKay is a billionaire who started out as a security contractor. He is married with children but has several mistresses from Canada, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. McKay claims that he has overthrown many third-world countries and Yara is just another addition to that list. McKay signed a deal that his company, McKay Global, to operate all industrial plants in La Joya in a joint venture with the Yaran government, coming to create a Yaran branch of the companies. He comes to Yara and begins to have the run of the place. McKay has a tense relationship with Admiral Aña Benítez and are always trying to undermine the other. These feuds become so heated Antón himself mediates several of them. Sean McKay statement "Pets will eat your face to survive. So will your children." may have been because of what Benítez have done to her parents, which disgusted McKay. Dani Rojas meets McKay when they go to his office to take down the surveillance system. He taunts the guerrilla as reinforcements arrive but they escape. Libertad destroy much of his industrial plants in retaliation for the usage of PG-420X that killed many guerrillas. McKay calls in some favors and agrees to financially back Libertad in exchange for his life. Juan Cortez makes Dani aware of this and tells them to rethink killing him. If Dani kills him, McKay will not finance the revolution. If he is spared, McKay will flee Yara and call Willis Huntley and Longinus to discuss businesses. Who Is Edgar Reyes? Doctor Edgar Reyes was a scientist who studied what made the tobacco of Yara so delicious. In 2014, Dr. Reyes discovered that Yaran tobacco contained a chemical compound known as Yarantine that provided a sweet flavor that also stopped cancer cell growth. He would work with future Yaran President Antón Castillo to develop this miraculous new cure, known as Viviro. Antón would use this promise of developing Viviro to appeal to the people that would elect him as the new Presidente. Dr. Reyes would also be Antón's personal doctor charged with treating his acute leukemia. Reyes was head of the scientific company known as Biovida and would develop the special, but carcinogenic, fertilizer PG-240. Reyes was secretly a sadistic psychopath who would stop at nothing in the name of scientific progress, even at the risk of his own safety. He took pleasure in experimenting on the enemies of the Castillo regime known as Fake Yarans, or Outcasts, who he considered to be equal to livestock. Dani Rojas would meet El Doctor when he was being interviewed by the Minister of Culture, María Marquessa. He declares his innocence as just being a scientist and is allowed to leave before the Minister is momentarily killed. Dani would cross paths with El Doctor in an effort to rescue Paolo de la Vega. Reyes renders them unconscious and implants a PG-240 implant in their body. Maximas Matanzas and Dani swear vengeance upon El Doctor. Reyes's right-hand man, Sergio Estévez, is forced to reveal the location of his superior before being killed by Paolo. Dani confronts Reyes at Biovida Building 13 and infects them with more of the poison. Dani fights back against the hallucinations and kills El Doctor, who laments over how he will never finish his research. If Dani takes the boat to leave Yara and live in the US, it's unknown what would happen to Reyes. He most likely continues his sadistic experiments. Uses: The biological weapon is transmitted through the airways or through the PG-240 Sprayer a weapon capable of spraying the Viviro, which is used by fumigators. The PG-240X is transmitted by air in the plantations to infect the plants which will then be used to extract it and use it to transform it into various products. It can be used as a weapon since Viviro is dangerous to humans and can trigger various symptoms if exposed to it for a prolonged period of time including death. This chemical weapon is called a "cure for cancer" and is only accessible in Yara. Anton Castillo wanted to wait before selling it to other countries. This product is still in the experimental phase due to its negative effects on the life forms that breathe it in. The Viviro was developed by various scientists. The head and developer of the Viviro is Edgar Reyes, head of Biovida, followed by the scientist Sergio Estévez, who is considered one of the best scientists at Biovida. Effects: The plants infected by the Viviro in the first phase will have only reddish veins, typical of the Viviro in this phase the plants will almost never be harvested because they will still have to grow. In the second phase the plants will be completely red and will be harvested. The amount of cancer-treating compound found in each plant is insignificant, meaning that in order to profit and produce it at a considerable rate every field and plantation must be seized in order to achieve this goal. Yarans who toil in the fields and suffer from the effects of the chemical compound refer to it as "the Poison". The Viviro has a long-term effect, on Anton Castillo for example you can initially notice inflammation of the lymph nodes and then hear him cough out blood in some occasions, it seems that to counter the Viviro; Anton used the transfusion of perhaps blood between him and an outcast, on other people instead it can be noted that nausea and coughing are typical effects that the outcast collectors of the Viviro plants had, instead when Rayes infected Dani Rojas with the Viviro, the effects of Dani were hallucinations, nausea, dizziness and various pains until they tore themselves the device that was used to activate the Viviro in their body, and then pass out. Containment: The Viviro will be transformed into various products, such as a spray or an ointment, but often when it is stored it is contained in a container in turn contained in a cooling unit that keeps the PG-240X watertight and cold. in the heat it will risk exploding, the PG-240X is extremely poorly resistant to sun and flames and to be safe it must either be cooled with water or cold liquids or left in the cooling unit.
