
This guide is a quick, bullet-tip style summary of all of the individual traits and patterns to each ghost in Phasmophobia. Full Details: Please be aware that this is guide may need to be updated from time to time, depending on what new ghosts are added into the game. Here is my ghost manual, it is 99(ish)% accurate - Sorry if you find the 1% wrong during a Ghost Hunt 😂 Phasmophobia Ghost Tests / Rules: - Typical ghosts will hunt at 50% sanity. - Regular ghosts can hunt every 1 minute and 30 seconds, EXCEPT for a Spirit or Demon. - Smudging the Ghost using Incense typically blinds the Ghost for around 5 seconds, EXCEPT for a Moroi. - Ghosts will ONLY blink during Ghost Hunts, they will NOT blink during a Ghost Event. - Some ghosts will speed upon seeing a player. This is known as Line of Sight (LoS). - Standard ghosts can give paranormal sounds every 80 seconds, EXCEPT for a Myling - Ghosts can detect electronics when they are in a Ghost Hunt. It is always best to turn off and drop the equipment, unless you are testing. Please see below list for breakdown of each ghost. This list may change over time. Each Ghost Explained: Banshee: - Unique scream on the parabolic microphone, and will often do a lot of singing Ghost events. - Stalks 1 target player, and can roam from it's favourite room. - When hunting, IT WILL ONLY HUNT the target player, until they die/leave the house and will ignore all other players. - They can be identified by roaming to player with motion sensors. - Does NOT leave EMF like a Phantom when roaming. - FEMALE GHOST ONLY. Hantu: - Has Freezing Breath when during a hunt (Only if the breaker is off) - Faster in cold rooms and slower in warm rooms. - NO SPEED UP ON LoS. - Will NOT turn breaker on. - FREEZING TEMPERATURE IS THE HANTU'S FORCED EVIDENCE Demon: - If you smudge it during a hunt, it can hunt after 1 minute. - It can hunt under 1 minute and 30 seconds after the last hunt. - Can hunt you at any sanity. - Crucifixes have 50% more range against Demons (Demon's can burn the Crucifix from quite far away). Deogen: - YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM A DEOGEN. They ALWAYS know your location - Looping the Ghost is the only way to survive. - During a hunt, the Deogen is very fast until it gets close to you. Once it slows down, you can easily just walk away from it. - Spirit Box growl POSSIBLE forced evidence - Paranormal breathing sound is evidence Goryo: - Cannot change its favourite room. - The Ghost is only visible in D.O.T.S. from a video camera WITH NO PLAYERS IN THE ROOM. - DOTS forced evidence Jinn: - With the breaker ON, during a hunt it will speed up during LoS, and then slow down to normal speed when it gets close. - When player is within 3m of breaker box, Jinn can do a sanity drain event which will drain 25% sanity and give EMF 2 or 5 at the breaker box. - The Jinn cannot turn off a breaker directly, but it can trip the breaker by turning on too many lights. Mare: - The 'Source of all Nightmares in the Dark' - It CANNOT turn on a light. - Turns lights off a lot. - If within range, sometimes the Mare will immediately flick the light switch off after you turn it on. - It can hunt at 60% sanity in dark rooms and 40% in lit rooms. The Mimic: - Ghost orbs will ALWAYS be a 4th evidence and will ALWAYS give ghost orbs. - If you have investigated the Ghost and you are only left with a Hantu as your option, double check as it might be The Mimic. - Ghost Orbs forced evidence. Moroi: - The Moroi is stronger when a player(s) are weaker. - During a hunt, the lower your sanity, the faster the ghost will be. - Smudging the ghost will blind it for 7.5 seconds. - It WILL speed up with LoS. You can test this by taking sanity meds during a Hunt and listening for its footsteps to slow down. This is NOT TO BE CONFUSED with a Thaye, which does not have LoS. - The Moroi can curse a player through ANY sound equipment ,which will constantly drain sanity at 2x speed, REGARDLESS if in light or dark. You can take sanity meds to stop the Moroi Curse - Spirit box POSSIBLE forced evidence. Myling: - The Myling has quiet footsteps. Listen carefully when hunting. - During a hunt, turn on a flashlight and set it on the floor right in front of you. If you hear footsteps ONLY when the light is flashing, it is a Myling. Myling footsteps can only be heard up close and under 12m. - The Flashlight Test (See above) ONLY WORKS IF THE GHOST IS ON THE SAME FLOOR AS THE PLAYER . - If the ghost is on a different floor, you can still hear the footsteps. - Can give 2 parabolic sounds under 80 seconds. Obake: - Shapeshifts during hunt (It will change Ghost Model). - Can leave a 6 fingered UV hand. It can also leave two fingers on light switch and a 5- finger-print mark on keyboards. - It may also may not leave UV. If you have guaranteed UV on Interactions, test to see if it leaves no UV after you confirm this in your Journal. - UV FORCED EVIDENCE. Oni: - VERY visible and fast blinks during hunts. - Will not do the Mist Form Ghost Interaction (Looks like a floating white ball that passes through you.) - The Oni prefers a solid form during events. Onryo: - CANNOT BURN a crucifix if a candle is near it. - Every 3 candle blowouts, it will guarantee a hunt immediately. - An Onryo can blow out the same candle twice in under 20 seconds. However, it cannot light flames including campfires or environment candles. Phantom: - Taking a photo of a Phantom will make it disappear, and it will not appear in the photo. This applies for D.O.T.S, during a Ghost Event, and during a Hunt. - Extremely dangerous to loop, due to the long blink time. - While hunting, it is barely visible and has longer time between blinks. - Will roam to player and give an EMF 2 reading. Poltergeist: - If you create a large pile of objects, the Ghost can explode this pile. - Another sign of a Poltergeist, is if a lot of objects are being thrown FAR DISTANCES around, not during a Hunt or a Ghost Event. Revenant: -Super slow when not in vision of the Ghost during a Hunt. - It WILL gain LoS. - When Hunting, if it gains LoS, the Revenant is one the fastest ghosts in the game. - Extremely dangerous if trying to loop the ghost. Raiju: - During a Hunt, it will speed up around a player(s) electrical equipment and slow down when out of range - When Hunting, the heartbeat during hunt will be bass boosted and crunchy. - If in range, electrical equipment will make it very aggressive. Shade: - Known as the 'Shy Ghost'. - WILL NOT Hunt or Ghost Event if people are in the ghost room. - The Shade prefers shadow form during events. - (Possible - The Shade cannot do singing events). Spirit. - Smudge the Ghost during a Hunt and it will not hunt for 3 min. - Once smudged, set a timer. Thaye: -Gets older throughout the match as you stand in the ghost room. - Initially very, very fast, it does slows down as the time passes, due to it getting older. - If in doubt, you can use a Ouija board to ask for the Thaye's age to confirm this. The Twins: - One Twin will Hunt with a slow speed, and the other Twin will hunt with a fast speed. - If struggling, check for any activity in multiple rooms. - EITHER of The Twins can trigger a hunt at any time. Wraith: - Will NOT disturb salt at all. Actively afraid of Salt. - Can tele[port to one player, anywhere on the map. - Wraiths have been known to travel through walls, however, it cannot do this during a Ghost Event. - Will give an EMF 2 reading when teleporting to a player. Yokai: - Known as the 'Dumb Ghost' - Has very low range of perception during a Hunt. - Does NOT have LoS. - Gets angry when you talk. - If using voice chat in the same room as a Yokai, it can temporarily increase it's hunt threshold to 80%. - When hunting, the Yokai can only hear voices near it. - Will only walk to the Music Box if within 2.5m of the Ghost, instead of the normal 5m. Yurei: - Double Door Touch. - The Yurei can close any main doors outside of a Hunt or Ghost Event. - Any room door(s) open and closes will EITHER BE FULLY OPEN OR FULLY SHUT. - Smudging a Yurei will trap it in the ghost room for 90 seconds. - Has LoS, if you dare :)
