Starter Guide for Warlock! I made this for mainly new or even old players to help them stay alive in the dungeons! Tips/Starter Builds including Budget item Build options. Don't forget! If you find anything helpful here and don't mind then drop a rating on the guide! Thanks TIP to LVL FAST as Warlock!!! I'll start with a quick Tip to lvl up faster in order to get the perks needed to run this efficiently. You'll First take the ability Phantomize and the spell Flame Walker How this works simply put you'll trigger as many things as you can without getting hit by ex. archers and then Flame Walker Phantomize into them until dead (kills fast) • I recommend using this combo on Frost Mountain though it can work on any map! example on frost mountain if you spawn top center in a circular room with an elevator exit you can use this method really well in there looping the entities like its COD Zombies with the combo. Shadow Touch • Shadow Touch will be your best friend to heal off of PVE until you can get Torture Mastery • I will mention that Shadow Touch isn't needed after getting the other three perks below I like to swap it depending on what builds I'm running! This build here is focused solely on Magic Healing/Curses. Where as you can do a magic damage reflection build paired with healing/curses! Torture Mastery » Torture Mastery will switch into being your primary healing source once you get it by using curse of pain! Pairing it with Curse Mastery in order to extend the Curse (heal) duration! Vampirism • Unlocking your final perk will allow your overall healing to be boosted by %20 with Vampirism (don't forget this is a Magical Healing build) Spells • Aside from Curse of Pain being the #1 Spell to use the rest of the spells you will want to run are going to be Power of Sacrifice » We use Power of Sacrifice reason being it ticks 3 magic damage for 12 seconds which is 12 seconds of healing/damage for sub/boss or overall entities (pair it with curses for healing) » Hellfire is a really strong spell (60 magic damage and goes through walls) mainly used for clearing hordes or killing sub/bosses really damn fast! You can also use it to break doors and push people! (careful not to kill yourself with it even in Phantomize) » Hydra is a need if you want to do PVP! You can use Hydra to heal off of and block door ways to stop full on pushes and to see if anyone's camping a doorway in unusually dark rooms. *Hydra FYI! Now when using Curse Mastery the spell cost is 3x instead if 2x so you lose 25 hp when casting Hydra; if you run it or not is honestly up to you. Life Drain is crazy good now really though if you use it on Hydra + Vampirism without Curse Mastery. I could make a whole section dedicated to a life drain build not sure yet! » The last spell I use when not running flame walker is bolt of darkness this is honestly personal preference I use it for runners in PVP but others also use bloodstained blade it's up to you! Weapons • If you want to know what weapons I'd use with this they'd be longswords, halberds or a bardiche I prefer a longsword over everything though to parry & riposte in PVP. and for your secondary weapon to cast spells... use a spellbook! It's great! Perks • Perks in Order (top to bottom) » Shadow Touch » Torture Mastery » Curse Mastery » Vampirism • Note that when you have all the perk slots unlocked Vampirism can move to the top & replace Shadow Touch; Shadow touch is just a starter perk to heal off of, you can use a different perk for the fourth slot unless you like the bonus heals off of hitting things Gear Builds I'll Update this when I have time (adding on, editing offering new warlock builds etc) Budget Build (with options) Stats listed are going off of Green Items! » Budget Build focused on DEX, STR, AGL & Magical Healing vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Head • Head - Shadow Mask or Occultist Hoods! Shadow Mask has 5 Armor Rating 2 DEX/1 STR/2 AGL (no movement penalty) best paired with any of; Memory Capacity, PDR, Debuff Duration Occultist Hoods have 16 Armor Rating 3 Magical Healing and only -2 Movement Speed penalty which would be paired same as Shadow Mask unless finding a cheap True Magic Damage roll. Chest • Chest - Frock & Grand Brigandine are the main two Occultist Tunic & Padded Tunic are the secondary choice if you feel like you need more STR then DEX. All of these are also all lightweight besides the Grand Brigandine. Movement speed is very important! Frock has 30 Armor Rating, 3 DEX and a -6 Movement Speed penalty.. so pairing it with Agility rolls or Memory Capacity work really well. Grand Brigandine is a heavier shirt but gives 60 Armor Rating 2 DEX & 2 AGL & honestly cheaper! you can get one with a Magical Healing roll on it for dirt cheap usually. Occultist Tunic's are slept on in my opinion as I don't see too many warlocks run them.. The base stats for these bad boys are great as a green gives 52 Armor Rating with only -5 Movement Speed penalty alongside giving 3 STR. For rolls additional Armor Rating, Magical Healing, Memory Capacity & PDR all work great on this. I threw in Padded Tunic's as a cheap cheap option if you're really struggling in the dungeons as a green gives base of 3 STR & 37 Armor Rating with a -7 Movement Speed penalty. Any rolls previously said above work for this it's whatever you get cheapest. Legs • Legs - Occultist Pants, Loose Trousers & Cloths Pants! Cloth Pants are a good pair with Frocks as they have 18 Armor Rating, 3 DEX with -3 Movement Speed penalty. Rolls on these could be PDR, AGL or Knowledge it's whatever's cheaper at the time. Loose Trousers have a base stat of 12 Armor Rating, 3 AGL and a -3 Movement Speed penalty greatly paired with any of the listed Chest Pieces. Rolls on this can be the same as above ^ Occultist Pants have a base stat of 15 Armor Rating, 3 STR and a -4 Movement Speed penalty Feet • Feet - Honestly anything with Agility rolls will work great with this build but if you want some specifics then Adventurer Boots, Darkleaf Boots & Dashing Boots. For rolls as said anything with agility! Hands • Hands Raw Hide Gloves or Riveted Gloves work the best depends on which stats you need more! Raw Hide Gloves give 11 Armor Rating 3 Knowledge & 2 Resourcefulness Riveted Gloves give 15 Armor Rating & 3 STR It's personal preference honestly any gloves will work it just depends on the stats you need but these are the two I'd personally run! Necklace This is up to you but I run a Monkey Pendant for the DEX The rolls being whatever's usually cheapest on the Marketplace for the budget builds. Other choices could be a Bear Pendant, Phoenix Choker or a Necklace of Peace. Rings The go to rings will always be two Rings of Quickness or two Rings of Finesse sometimes even run 1 of each. Another option would to be throwing in a Ring of Courage if you want more dmg. Rolls don't matter for budget build whatever you can get cheapest. Cloak If you run a cloak (I recommend you do) then you should use a Watchman Cloak with this build as it has high base Armor Rating and gives some needed Resourcefulness. An alternative could be a Mercurial Cloak which gives DEX. Any rolls on these cloaks work whatever's cheapest as I always say. Primary/Secondary Weapons For your primary I recommend a Longsword. Practice Parrying with it as if you get good enough to parry & riposte in pvp your enemy is done for if you land them. Rolls I usually go with Additional Weapon Damage if I can get it low but besides that whatever I can get I take as long as its green. Other then longsword any of the weapons I listed previously in the guide work wonderfully! For your secondary you're always going to take a spellbook no matter what. that -10 Movement Speed penalty when holding it is crucial in pve/pvp combat. Rolls on this take anything with Memory Capacity, Magical Interaction Speed or Magic Penetration. Whatever you can get! More Expensive Build Options soon
