Welcome to The Beast Inside, where psychological horror meets historical mystery, and your sanity meets its breaking point. This guide will walk you through the game, helping you survive jump scares, convoluted puzzles, and your own terrible decisions—all with a healthy dose of humor to keep you sane. Step 1: Know Thyself (And Thy Dual Protagonists) You’ll play as two protagonists in The Beast Inside: Adam: A paranoid cryptanalyst in the 1970s trying to decode stuff, move into a creepy old house, and not freak out when things go bump in the night. Spoiler: He fails. Nicolas: A 19th-century dude with a penchant for narrating his tragic backstory while exploring the same house, which is even creepier in his time. He’s dealing with family drama, murder, and something…beastly. Pro Tip: If you think you’re confused by the dual timelines, wait until the plot twists start piling up. Step 2: Welcome to Your Creepy New Home Adam and his wife, Emma, move into a decrepit house in the middle of nowhere. Because what could go wrong? Let’s break it down: The House: It’s huge, dark, and filled with ominous creaks, whispers, and more locked doors than a government building. The Surroundings: Forests, lakes, and basements. Basically, a “Where’s Waldo” of horror clichés. The Neighbors: Oh wait, there are none. Convenient for jump scares! Pro Tip: When a house looks like it’s auditioning for the cover of Haunted Weekly, don’t buy it. Step 3: Gameplay – Running, Puzzling, and Screaming The gameplay alternates between solving puzzles, exploring creepy locations, and running from things that want to kill you. Exploration 1. Check Every Drawer: Because apparently, every drawer in the 1970s is full of cryptic notes, keys, and random junk. 2. Don’t Trust Mirrors: Or shadows. Or light switches. Basically, trust nothing. 3. Flashlight/Matches: Your only friends. Until they flicker ominously. Puzzles The puzzles range from “Oh, that’s clever” to “Who even thinks like this?” Examples include: Solving cryptograms that would make a CIA agent cry. Figuring out how random objects (like a pipe or a wrench) fit into contraptions that look like they belong in Saw. Spending 20 minutes looking for a key, only to realize it was in your inventory the whole time. Pro Tip: When in doubt, overthink everything. This game wants you to spiral into madness. Step 4: The Monsters – Oh Good, They’re Here to Kill You You’ll encounter a variety of entities throughout the game, each more unsettling than the last: For Adam: Intruders: Shadowy figures breaking into your house. You’re armed with a gun, but they’re armed with terrifying persistence. The Whispers: You’ll hear voices that make you question your sanity. Fun! For Nicolas: The Beast: A monstrous figure that stalks you relentlessly. It doesn’t care about your feelings, only your screams. Hallucinations: Are they real? Who knows? Either way, they’re horrifying. Pro Tip: When something is chasing you, don’t look back. It’s behind you. Always. Step 5: The Art of Running Away There are plenty of chase sequences in The Beast Inside, and they’re designed to raise your heart rate and your blood pressure. Here’s how to survive: Follow the Light: If you see a lantern or a lit path, run toward it like it’s a Black Friday sale. Don’t Trip: Obstacles will conveniently appear in your path. Jump over them or die trying. Learn the Layout: Memorize where doors, windows, and hiding spots are. Your life depends on it. Pro Tip: You’ll die at least once. Laugh it off and try again—preferably with less screaming. Step 6: The Plot – Twists, Turns, and WTF Moments The story is a blend of: Psychological Horror: Adam questioning his reality. Historical Mystery: Nicolas uncovering family secrets. Conspiracy Theories: Cold War paranoia, cryptography, and hidden agendas. Pro Tip: If you think you’ve figured out the story, you haven’t. The game loves rug-pulling more than a mischievous toddler. Step 7: Tools of Survival Adam and Nicolas both have tools to help them survive, but they’re not exactly armed to the teeth. Adam’s Gun: Use it sparingly. Ammo is rarer than common sense in a horror movie. Nicolas’s Lamp: Provides light, but also attracts every creepy thing in the house. Your Brain: You’ll need it for the puzzles, but don’t expect it to help in a fight. Pro Tip: A well-timed scream won’t solve problems, but it might scare your cat. Step 8: Surviving the Jump Scares Jump scares are The Beast Inside’s bread and butter. Here’s how to handle them: 1. Lower the Volume: Your eardrums will thank you. 2. Play During the Day: Sunlight makes everything less scary. 3. Never Trust a Quiet Moment: If nothing’s happening, something is about to happen. Step 9: Puzzles That Make You Question Life You’ll encounter a series of puzzles that feel like they were designed by a sadistic escape room enthusiast. Cryptograms: Crack codes while your character mutters unhelpful comments. Locked Doors: Every key you find opens the door you just left. Environmental Puzzles: Move boxes, climb ledges, and feel like a platforming champion—until you fall. Pro Tip: Google is your friend. There’s no shame in cheating when the game is actively trying to break you. Step 10: The End – Wait, What?! The game’s finale ties together both timelines in a way that will leave you questioning everything. Is Adam crazy? Was Nicolas imagining things? Is the beast even real? Who cares? You survived! Pro Tip: After the credits roll, take a moment to appreciate how much time you spent screaming at your screen. Then uninstall the game before it convinces you to play again. Conclusion Congratulations, brave player! You’ve survived The Beast Inside, a game that’s equal parts terrifying and confusing. Whether you came for the puzzles, the scares, or just to see how many times you could scream in one sitting, you’ve earned your badge of courage. Now go treat yourself to some sunlight and a calming cup of tea—you’ve earned it. And remember, the real beast was the friends we lost along the way. Or something.
